PHI SLAMMA JAMMA’s Rickie Winslow, the R. O.W. D.Y. All-Stars and One Man Game Entertainment challenged black top legend Hot Sauce & his Street Ball All-Stars as seen on ESPN, The And 1 Mix Tapes, and the Video Game “Street Hoops” in the First Annual Houston Celebrity Street Ball Classic.



Sunday, May 9, 2004, come and experience a game of street basketball like never before, with Hot Sauce, his friends Baby Shaq, 50, Birdman, Silk, Big Swoal, Violator and HoustonÂ’s own Tim Jones, up against PHI SLAMMA JAMMAÂ’s Rickie Winslow and the R. O.W. D.Y. All-Stars in the HP&E Arena at Texas Southern University.



“We’re excited about doing something that is going to benefit underprivileged youth of Houston Inner-city, Ft Bend, and our continuous effort to provide food assistance to low income families and the homeless. Knowing that orchestrating an event for such a worthy cause makes us that much prouder of our contribution to the community with our first of several upcoming events in 2004!” says President and Founder, Rickie Winslow.



Tickets are on sale now, $20 adult admission and $15 children admission at the TSU Bookstore, RonaldÂ’s Barbershop on I-10 and Uvalde and EddieÂ’s Barbershop on I-10 and Mercury. Doors open at 5:00 p. m., with the official game time at 6:00 p. m. Proceeds to benefit the R. O.W. D.Y. Foundation and scholarships funds presented to Texas Southern University at halftime. This is not an AND 1 event.



About the R. O.W. D.Y. Foundation



The R. O.W. D.Y. Foundation, which stands for the Rickie OÂ’Neal Winslow Development For Youth, is a mentoring program that seeks to nurture the mental, physical, cultural, emotional and psychological needs of adolescents and young adults. Its mission is dedicated to providing programs and services that enhance education, personal, and social development to urban youth individuals. By surrounding young people with positive roles who refuse to accept or reward mediocrity, young adults are challenged to reach their fullest potential. In addition to reinforcing self-esteem, leadership, drugs and AIDS awareness, this program is designed to broaden the horizons of young people and help them aim high and achieve often. The R. O.W. D.Y. way is simple, by providing underprivileged youth an environment that fosters growth through education, sports and discipline, young people will gain the necessary life management skills to become leaders in the community.



R. O.W. D.Y.Â’s uniqueness comes from the culture of basketball because it serves as the backdrop of the entire program. R. O.W. D.Y. is a community-based organization with a 501(c) 3 designation. R. O.W. D.Y. offers individual, group and family counseling, health education, recreation, life skills education, speech, computer literacy and faith-based initiative activities.



The tour begins Friday, May 7th, in Shreveport, Louisiana and then goes to Beaumont, Texas, Saturday, May 8th and finishes here in Houston, Sunday, May 9th.
