CCA remains one of the best places to work for military servicepersons transitioning from the Service. That's according to G. I. Jobs magazine, which, for the fourth time, has ranked CCA as one of the nation's "Top 100 Military Friendly Employers" ® for 2011. CCA came in 54th place.

The highly anticipated yearly G. I. Jobs list is "a priceless resource for transitioners mapping out a new career path." At CCA – the nation's leader in partnership corrections for federal, state and county government – nearly 10 percent of employees are veterans. This year, CCA is the sole corrections company on the list and now has the distinction of being a "consistent performer," which sets apart companies that have appeared on the list for at least three years.

“Corrections Corporation of America has consistently proven it values the talent, skills and training that prior military bring to corporate America,” said Dan Fazio, managing editor of G. I. Jobs. “The company’s efforts to recruit and retain veterans have earned it a place among the Top Military Friendly Employers for the past four years. CCA is the only corrections company to earn such a distinction.”

"Men and women with a military background have a deep appreciation for the security - and service-oriented aspects our industry," said Brian Collins, CCA executive vice president and chief human resources officer. "That's crucial when it comes to safeguarding communities, partnering with governments and protecting the individuals in our nation's prisons, jails and detention centers."

G. I. Jobs evaluates companies according to several factors: assets dedicated to hiring military, such as job fairs, special campaigns and other efforts; Reserve/Guard policies, percentage of new veterans hired, and internal recruitment, training and promotional programs for veterans, in addition to community outreach.

CCA, which for more than 25 years has worked with government at all levels to deliver effective correctional solutions, has a diverse workforce and many opportunities for veterans. Employees work as administrators, teachers, nurses, correctional officers, counselors and more in over 60 CCA facilities throughout the country.

"We offer lasting and fulfilling career paths in security, operations, inmate rehabilitation, health services, management, human resources and more," Collins said. "Because of veterans' rich exposures and unique experiences, many have found their fit with CCA."
