Get Healthy Florida, working with the Orange County, Seminole County and Osceola County Health Departments, will begin administering thousands of free flu shots this week.

Get Healthy Florida, working with the Orange County, Seminole County and Osceola County Health Departments, has scheduled the following dates for their Free Flu Shot events:



November Free Flu Shot Events:



Friday, November 12th



LOCATION: West Oaks Mall



TIME: 12 – 6 pm



Saturday, November 13th



LOCATION: Waterford Lakes Centra Care



TIME: 10 am – 4 pm



Wednesday, November 17th



LOCATION: Seminole Towne Plaza



TIME: 12 – 6 pm



December Free Flu Shot Events



Friday, December 3rd



LOCATION: Osceola County – Location TBD



TIME: 12 – 6 pm



Tuesday, December 7th



LOCATION: Sand Lake Centra Care



TIME: Noon – 6PM



Friday, December 10th



LOCATION: Altamonte Mall



TIME: Noon – 6PM



Saturday, December 11th



LOCATION: Airport Centra Care



TIME: 10AM – 4PM



Get Healthy Florida would like to thank its sponsors: Florida Hospital Centra Care, Orange County Health Dept., Seminole County Health Dept., Osceola County Health Dept., Amerigroup, Z-88.3 radio, Telemundo and Chick-Fil-A, who make these events possible.



In order to avoid long lines, High Risk Persons will receive a ticket and an appointment time when they arrive at the event location. Appointment times will not be given out prior to the daysÂ’ event; participants should not call their health department or Get Healthy Florida to schedule for these events.



The vaccines at the Free Flu Shot events will be administered to those in the high-risk group only; anyone under the age of eighteen must be accompanied by their legal guardian. If you have an allergy to eggs you should not get a flu shot.



The CDC defines high-risk as:



All adults aged 65 and over All children aged 6-23 months Children 2-18 who must take aspirin regularly People aged 2-64 years with chronic health conditions (for example, diabetes, heart or lung disease) Pregnant women Residents of nursing homes and long term care facilities Caregivers and those who live with an infant aged less than six months (too young for vaccine) Health care workers who provide hands-on patient care
