Carlsbad, CA (PRWEB) May 21, 2009

Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity™, today introduced its NLP250-DC high-density, open-frame switching power supply for telecommunications and distributed power markets. Designed to operate directly from a 48VDC telecom central office power bus, the power supply supports a wide input voltage range of 38 to 60V. It can deliver 250W of continuous power with forced air to support battery backup and high-availability applications.

The NLP250-DC power supply features a compact 4 x 7 inch footprint - identical to AC models to facilitate a drop-in alternative for OEMs - and offers a low-profile component height of 1.5 inches to support a variety of 1U telecom applications. The NLP250-DC also utilizes an open-frame U-Channel form-factor to optimize airflow and enable maximum thermal performance. Additional standard features include integrated control and monitoring capabilities, a 12V at 1.5A fan output and a 5V at 1A standby output which remains active when the power supply's main output is inhibited.

The NLP250-DC power supply achieves best-in-class levels of reliability by utilizing an extensive set of conservative dating criteria throughout the product development process. Furthermore, Emerson Network Power's automated manufacturing methods, paired with a comprehensive qualification program, ensure that the product will reliably meet the demands of a wide range of high-availability applications where power continuity is a top priority. The power supply is also fully protected against overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature conditions and is backed by a two-year warranty from Emerson Network Power.

The NLP250-DC power supply complies with all standard environmental expectations including shock, vibration, humidity and thermal performance. In addition, the power supply is designed to meet all major safety and performance standards (UL, CSA and VDE) and is CE marked according to LVD directives. The NLP250-DC power supply is also RoHS compliant and meets FCC/CISPR 22 (EN55022) Class B Conducted EMI limits when properly grounded and installed within an approved enclosed chassis.

The NLP250-DC power supply is currently available, with a standard lead time of stock to eight weeks, and is priced starting at $148 per unit in OEM quantities.
