Stepped Off - By Steve Pape

My name is Steve Pape. Five years ago I was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, Scotland, following a serious motorbike accident. I spent approximately 4 weeks in a coma and a further two years recovering from my injuries. I have recently had a book published about my journey back to health and I wondered if you would be interested in writing an article about my recovery?

Leeds, West Yorkshire (PRWEB) October 23, 2005

Friday 14th July 2000 was the day that changed the lives of many people.

Steve slowly died at the roadside after a motorbike crash, but after several attempts to revive him, he started breathing again.

‘Stepped Off’ tells the story of Steve’s recovery with the help of his wife Carol, as he recounts the events both before and after the accident to the present day.

The trip to Scotland was meant to have been a short motor biking holiday with friends. It was also the first time Steve and Carol had been apart since their wedding in February, only four months previous.

The morning of 14th July 2000 was like any other morning and, after two days great biking, Steve was looking forward to the ride home to Leeds.

As it turned out, he didn't leave Scotland for another six weeks.

Steve woke from his coma in mid-August. This is the true story of the highs and the lows Steve and Carol experienced during his recovery and the ability of two ordinary people to cope with one extraordinary situation.
