Perception Strategies Executive Speaks on Panel of Award Winners

Company owner speaks to women's business group about winning Blue Chip Award and women achieving success in business.

Ms. Brooke Billingsley, Vice President of healthcare mystery shopping firm Perception Strategies, Inc., recently spoke on a panel of past Blue Chip Business Award winners. The roundtable discussion was held during an Indianapolis banquet held for Network of Women in Business members.

“Much of what we were able to share as panel members were the lessons we had learned as business owners,” explained Billingsley. “What steps we took to find success, what pitfalls we avoided, and the value of perception in the public eye—those topics of discussion were important to the members of NOWIB. As a woman business owner, I have invested much of my life in these areas, and it was an honor to share advice through a roundtable such as this.”

A public speaker for 15 years, Billingsley seeks to share knowledge with other women, spurring them on to become successful in their own ventures. Visualizing a dream and using every resource to work towards that goal, she says, is the most important secret of success. “As a speaker, I often meet women who have given up on their dreams of being successful in business. That is a real tragedy. Somewhere along the way, they have been told that accomplishing their goals is impossible. These women believe the misinformation, thus selling themselves short. I feel strongly about encouraging and empowering women in business whenever I can, because we are just as capable as men in fulfilling big dreams. I’m living proof that not only is it possible for women to own successful businesses, they can be award winners in their ventures.”

Since 1998, Perception Strategies has been a leader in customer service research, management consulting, training, and mystery shopping, serving the needs of healthcare providers across the country. The company is owned and operated by Kevin and Brooke Billingsley, who bring more than 20 years of experience in healthcare marketing and customer service. Headquartered in Indianapolis, the firm has worked with clients in 40 states. In the last three years, its revenue and headquarters staff have doubled. Sales are forecasted at $1 million for 2005.
