“When researching and compiling our Chicken Soup books, we heard from more than 15,000 kids this age,” said Hansen. “The preteen years are truly the age of personal empowerment – these kids are old enough to move, shake and change the world, and too young to be caught up in the belief that it can’t be done. Through PlanetNews, PreteenPlanet. com harnesses and encourages that empowerment and optimism and gives kids a voice.”

Launched in 2001 by the co-authors of Chicken Soup for the KidÂ’s Soul and Preteen Soul to give kids ages 9 to 13 a voice both as individuals and as a distinct group, www. PreteenPlanet. com engages preteens in customized projects and activities that empower them to make a difference in their own lives. Concurrently, it offers content promoting volunteerism and entrepreneurship, with unique interactive games and entertainment, celebrity involvement, contests, peer advice columns, and links to other popular sites. PreteenPlanet. com also features PlanetNews, the only online newspaper to feature content provided by preteens. PlanetNews provides kid reporters with journalism instruction, as well as the opportunity to see their work published. The site is regularly monitored and COPPA compliant, with AOL clearance for 13 and under.

Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul was on the PublisherÂ’s Weekly ChildrenÂ’s Nonfiction Best Sellers List for 20 consecutive weeks, and reached #4 on the New York Times Best Sellers List for Children. Chicken Soup for the KidÂ’s Soul has sold more than three million copies and for four consecutive years has been one of four books each year nominated for the Nickelodeon KidÂ’s Choice Awards for Favorite Book of the Year, winning the award in 1999.

Swapagift. com and the National Prostate Cancer Coalition Team Up this Father's Day to Make a Difference in Men's Health

Swapagift. com Cards that Care™ program paves the way for unique and effective use of gift cards in the fight against prostate cancer.

Langhorne, PA (PRWEB) June 11, 2007

Swapagift. com, the leading web site for buying, selling and trading unused gift cards, is helping to end the nation's epidemic of prostate cancer. Partnering with the National Prostate Cancer Coalition (NPCC), Swapagift. com is launching a Father's Day fundraising program using its Cards that Care™ program. The NPCC is asking supporters to donate their unused gift cards, which will then be sold Swapagift. com. The proceeds from the sale of these discounted gift cards will benefit the NPCC in its fight against prostate cancer.

Participants in this first-of-its-kind campaign will have the satisfaction of knowing their gift card contributions are helping to eradicate a disease that strikes 1 in 6 men in the United States during their lifetimes. All donations to the program are tax-deductible, and NPCC welcomes contributions made in honor of others.

"Swapagift. com is enthusiastic about working with NPCC in its fight against prostate cancer," said Mike Kelly, CEO of Swapagift. com. "In honor of Father's Day and the important men in our lives, we are partnering with the NPCC to raise funds that increase awareness, outreach, and advocacy. Through our Cards that Care™ program, supporters can contribute to this important cause simply by donating unused gift cards, or by purchasing one or more of the specially-marked gift cards on Swapagift. com. What better gift can we give our fathers on Father's Day than the gift of good health" said Mike Kelly, CEO of Swapagift. com.

"Millions of Americans receive gift cards that go unused every year. Swapagift. com has decided to make a direct impact on the lives of men and families affected by prostate cancer by launching this fundraising and awareness campaign," added Kelly.

Dr. Richard Atkins, NPCC CEO, expressed gratitude for choosing the prostate cancer organization as Swapagift. com's first charity partner in the Cards that Care™ program. "We are always pleased when America's corporations create new opportunities to stop the surge of prostate cancer among our nation's baby-boomer families. We want to make sure that men in their prime years at work and family life are not torn from their roles as fathers, grandfathers, uncles and friends."

The Swapagift. com campaign with NPCC was co-developed by the Los Angeles based, Perfect Pitch Marketing. The company will oversee and manage the campaign on behalf of NPCC.

"Re-gifting through the Swapagift. com Cards that Care™ program will allow non-profit organizations like NPCC to participate in new channels and applications in the $5-$10 billion unused gift card market,", said Prissi Cohen, president of Perfect Pitch Marketing. "Swapagift. com's pioneering work opens up a lucrative and novel revenue stream for our nation's charities. An added bonus is that Cards that Care™ brings together corporate sponsors like Boston Medical Group with worthy corporations and non-profit partners, like Swapagift. com and NPCC, in the common goal of impacting the new and growing field of men's health."

Cummaquid, MA, Yardley, PA, Falls Church, VA (PRWEB) March 31, 2009

A major research project announced today by Cambashi, Axendia, and FDAnews is designed to determine how far medical device companies have moved toward the Total Product Life Cycle approach recommended by the FDA. This study, Managing the Total Product Lifecycle: Lowering Costs While Increasing Quality, will examine the transformation from waterfall processes to more concurrent and collaborative processes. Medical device manufacturers are invited to respond to a new survey on current practices plus the challenges and benefits of that transformation.

This study will:

identify major challenges associated with managing the Total Product Lifecycle uncover the transitional issues facing medical device organizations and their ecosystem, including globally distributed production, outsourced operations, suppliers, distributors and trading partners describe innovative strategies, best practices, and technologies that medical device companies should consider to achieve quality and cost benefits characterize the current state of the medical device industry and provide insight into how industry leaders are meeting today's challenges

Survey respondents will receive the final report as an aid to enable their transformation from disconnected "silo" processes to holistic end-to-end product approaches, plus valuable related reports. The research team is seeking responses representing the broad spectrum of companies in the medical device industry - organizations of all sizes, all classes of devices, and in every geographic region. The initial online survey is open for industry response from April 2 until April 14th. All responses will be aggregated to formulate report findings. Individual responses will remain strictly confidential.

The online survey is available at: http://www. surveymethods. com/EndUser. aspx? E6C2AEB0E0A6B0BD (http://www. surveymethods. com/EndUser. aspx? E6C2AEB0E0A6B0BD) or through www. fdanews. com, www. axendia. com or www. cambashi. com.

The research is co-sponsored by five companies - all of which are active in the Medical Device industry. These companies provide deep and diverse expertise in medical devices practices and provide design, product lifecycle management, production, quality, and related software and services to the industry as well as management consulting services to leverage applications appropriately. Working together, these underwriting sponsors hope to increase the medical device market's understanding of how to reduce risks and improve compliance and profitability. Research Sponsors for the study are: management and technology consulting firm BearingPoint (www. bearingpoint. com), enterprise manufacturing and quality software provider Camstar Systems (www. camstar. com ), product lifecycle management (PLM) software innovator Dassault Systèmes Enovia (www.3ds. com) with its medical device industry PLM partner Integware (www. integware. com), and PLM and enterprise content management software provider PTC (www. ptc. com).

The analysis and report will be prepared by Cambashi and Axendia, which retain full editorial control. The results of this survey will be released at the Sixth Annual Medical Device Quality Congress June 3-5 in Cambridge, MA in a special session on the research, Managing the Total Product Lifecycle: Lowering Costs while Increasing Quality. This research ties in closely with this year's conference theme, Leading the Way to Better Performance With Quality Systems Compliance.

Swanson Health Products Introduces a New Line of 100% Certified Organic Spices

Swanson Health Products Introduces a New Line of 100% Certified Organic Spices

With the demand for organic products increasing, Swanson Health Products answers their customer requests and adds 10 new 100% certified organic spices.

Fargo, ND (PRWEB) October 20, 2008

As the natural food industry continues to grow, more and more people are looking at everything they consume. At first, using organic spices wasn't something most people thought twice about; spices are a very small part of a large meal. Today, consumers are educating themselves on everything organic and finding out how using organic products--even spices-- is not only beneficial to their health but also beneficial to the environment.

Why Buy Organic?

Conventional spices sold in the United States are often exposed to irradiation or ethylene oxide, a known carcinogen, and fumigated with hazardous chemicals. As a consequence, spices may be contaminated with pesticide residues and with genetically modified ingredients. Organic spices are treated with steam and ozone to combat natural predators like bacteria, parasites, insects, yeast and molds that are acquired while in the ground. Organic spices do not contain fillers, synthetic anti-caking agents, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, which may be found in non-organic spices.

Why Buy Swanson Organic 100% Certified Organic Spices?

Swanson Health Products (http://www. swansonvitamins. com/Health-Library/Lnd/catalog/Baked-Tomato-Snapper. html?&SourceCode=INTN009) has teamed up with Red Monkey to announce the addition of ten 100% certified organic spices to their family of products. Red Monkey, a growing Midwestern-based company, shares the same values as Swanson Health Products and offers the best quality products. They have extensive quality control programs to ensure that only the finest organic products are used.

The new 100% certified organic spice line includes:

100% Certified Organic Basil Leaves

Add to most any Italian dish for an instant burst of freshness and flavor.

100% Certified Organic Ground Cayenne Pepper

Add to fresh fruits with a splash of lime for a more savory treat.

100% Certified Organic Ground Cinnamon (http://www. swansonvitamins. com/SWF024/ItemDetail?&SourceCode=INTN009)

With a warm, exotic flavor, cinnamon adds richness to sweet desserts and savory dishes alike. Add a pinch to meat marinades, stews, curries and casseroles or sprinkle a little on black beans when making burritos or nachos.

100% Certified Organic Ground Cumin

Use in poultry, marinades, and as a subtle spice in salads

100% Certified Organic Dill Weed

When adding dill to dishes that are in the cooking process, add near the end of cooking to help preserve the dill flavor.

100% Certified Organic Garlic Powder (http://www. swansonvitamins. com/SWF027/ItemDetail?&SourceCode=INTN009)

Garlic Powder can be used in marinades, or mixed with herbs and rubbed into poultry, pork, or beef before cooking.

100% Certified Organic Ground Ginger

Ginger is used to flavor sweets including cakes, cookies, breads and beverages. It is also good in sauces and fruit dishes, and is often used in Asian cooking.

100% Certified Organic Crushed Rosemary

Rosemary is great with beef, pork and chicken. It is also used as a deodorizer and disinfectant.

100% Certified Organic Thyme Leaves

Thyme is slow to release its flavors so it should be added early in the cooking process and is great with meats, soups and stews. Often used as a primary flavor with lamb, tomatoes and eggs.

100% Certified Organic Ground Turmeric (http://www. swansonvitamins. com/SWF022/ItemDetail?&SourceCode=INTN009)

Turmeric is widely used in South Asian and Middle Eastern cooking. It is sometimes used as a coloring agent giving curry powder its brilliant yellow color.

Swanson Health Products is offering all 10 organic spices (http://www. swansonvitamins. com/SWF033/ItemDetail?&SourceCode=INTN009) for $32.76--saving customers 10 percent with this spice pack purchase. This set of 10 spices provides every aspiring chef all the basics for delicious recipes, such as Baked Tomato Snapper (http://www. swansonvitamins. com/lnd/Recipes/BakedTomatoSnapper. html?&SourceCode=INTN009). Number of Unmarried Parents on the Rise

Number of Unmarried Parents on the Rise

One third of all U. S. births are to unmarried parents. More and more people are choosing to have a baby first, before they are married. In a society that expects parents to be married (particularly those who live together), it can be confusing and difficult to navigate the legal system, schools, medical care, and more. Learn how to manage these issues and plan for your unmarried family.

Clarence, NY (PRWEB) July 17, 2008

1.25 million babies (one third of all births) are born each year in the U. S. to unmarried parents. Many people just assume these babies are born to single moms, when in fact 41% of these births are to unmarried cohabitating couples. People no longer get married then have the baby. A significant portion of couples never marry, or marry years after becoming parents.

Hollywood has set the example in this instance. Couples such as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, Madonna and her bodyguard (the father of her first child), Mia Farrow and Woody Allen, Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard, and Farah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal share or have shared children in a partnership outside marriage. Many other famous couples become parents first and later choose to marry, such as Annette Bening and Warren Beatty, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid, and Madonna and Guy Ritchie (the father of her second child).

Unmarried couples face huge challenges in our marriage-centric society. Married couples are automatically legal parents together, while an unmarried father must go through a legal procedure to become the "real" father. Unmarried couples face other challenges, such discrimination in adoption or fertility treatments, unfair income tax treatment, as well as a general lack of understanding by doctors, teachers, and neighbors. Society and the legal system are not set up to recognize and support unmarried parents, and so many find themselves feeling ignored or misunderstood.

Unmarried with Children: The Complete Guide for Unmarried Families (Adams Media, August 2008, ISBN: 978-1-59869-587-8) is a guide to the confusing landscape unmarried families must face. Written by Brette Sember, a former attorney and expert in the area of non-traditional families, with a technical mental health review by Philip Hall, Ph. D., this complete guide offers all the information unmarried families need, such as information about:

Adoption and Infertility Treatments for Unmarried Couples Rights of Unmarried Parents (Raising Children Together or Apart) Choosing a Last Name for Your Child Creating Legal Authority for an Unmarried Partner-Parent Unmarried Step-Parenting Children's Rights in Unmarried Families Financial Organization for Unmarried Families Paternity Arranging Court-Ordered or Independent Child Support Explaining Your Situation to Other People Wills, Inheritances, Guardians, Benefits and More How to Successfully Parent in Your Situation How to Deal with a Break Up Common Law Marriages and Domestic Partnerships

Unmarried with Children also addresses the concerns of other unmarried parents, such as gay couples, single mothers, and parents who are no longer a couple, but are co-parenting to raise their child. Births to single women over age 35 recently doubled and rates of non-marital births among single white mothers rose 92%. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, 9 million children have at least one gay parent and the American Bar Association states that there were 5.5 million unmarried partner households (which include both gay and unmarried heterosexual couples) in the U. S. in 2000.

Qapla! Inc. Introduces New Earth Friendly Product Letting You Wash Clothes Without Damaging The Environment

Qapla! Inc. Introduces New Earth Friendly Product Letting You Wash Clothes Without Damaging The Environment

This new and unique earth friendly product connects to existing washing machines and allows users to wash clothes without the need for environmentally damaging soaps or chemicals. Users save on hot water costs, soap, bleach, and there is no need to sort clothes ever again

Gaithersburg, Maryland (PRWEB) December 22, 2006

Qapla! Inc., (www. liveearthfriendly. com) has announced the launch of a new distributorship program for an earth friendly product that connects to existing washing machines and negates the need for hot water, soaps, bleaches, and sorting of clothes. The system also injects silver ions into the water to kill odor-producing bacteria.

Frances Royo, President, reports that using this new system allows users to save money because they no longer have to use hot water or soaps when washing clothes. The energy cost savings alone can be worth the cost of the system in that it has a verifiable payback in 2 to 3 years with the average family sized home. Because there are no harsh chemicals or soaps needed with the system, skin rashes and other skin problems can be decreased for people with sensitive skin. This earth friendly product also helps the environment, as the discharge water contains no soap or chemicals and is even safe to use on plants or to water pets and livestock.

Because of its ease of use, men seem to love it. Scott Mathieu writes in: "This product causes men to be addicted to doing the laundry. The women of America are assured to make this product the hottest thing since the microwave."

John, another customer who uses the system, reports: "This thing is great! I no longer waste water on a small load. I just keep throwing clothes right into the washer until it's full, and then turn it on. And my skin doesn't itch any more, either. What a relief. As a guy, I shy away from laundry, because when I offer to do the laundry I make all the laundry pink. With this new gizmo, I can do the laundry and all the clothes keep their colors and smell great, even when I forget about it because of the football game."

For more information on this revolutionary new earth friendly product, visit the website, where you can find many more details and useful tips.

CareAides. com Goes Live! Vancouver Entrepreneurs Fill a Niche in the Healthcare Industry

CareAides. com is the world’s first healthcare employment-matchmaking site and healthcare web community. It matches people that need care with people that are looking to enhance another’s quality of life. The website offers a variety of advertising features for both job seekers and employers as well as providing emotional support for those in need.

(PRWEB) August 15, 2006

After 5 years in the healthcare industry, local entrepreneur Kami Koski, 34, and international marketer Darren Little, 42 of Vancouver, B. C. identified a niche in the healthcare industry. With the increasing demand for caregivers amongst the baby boomer generation, Koski and Little saw the need for a healthcare employment-matchmaking service; an advertising platform where care givers could showcase their availability to both facilities and private individuals looking to hire staff.

The two entrepreneurs envisioned a place where people in need of emotional support could also meet, chat, and help one another through difficult times. The result was CareAides. com, the world’s first healthcare employment-matchmaking site and healthcare web community.

“Every day, I was getting between 5 and 10 calls from care givers that were searching for employment”, said Koski. “They would e-mail or fax their resumes to me, and after a few months the file became so big, that it became increasingly more difficult to put a face to each of the care givers resumes. CareAides. com was designed to give caregivers a much more personalized way of showcasing their resumes, work preferences, pictures and even video profiles. It makes the entire process of searching for a Care Aide a very enjoyable experience.”

CareAides. com is also an online web community that provides easy access to a host of company’s, products and services all related to the Health Care Industry. The “forums section” connects people that are experiencing health challenges with people who can help them find solutions.

Members are able to review current job postings throughout Canada while connecting with other care givers. This website and service not only helps to create jobs, it also facilitates employers in quickly finding suitable Care Aides by allowing them to view vital employee details at a glance. The site also provides resources for home health care products and services. Registration to the site is absolutely free, giving people access to post topics and connect with other indiviudals in the forums section of the site.

ADVERTISING PACKAGES:

Care Aides, worldwide, are able to advertise themselves to the Canadian healthcare market and have employers search for them. The company offers three different memberships: a basic Bronze package, an intermediate Silver package and an advanced Gold package.

For a monthly fee of $19.95, Bronze Members can upload their resume, job qualifications and photograph. This information is all accessible to employers through a basic and/or advanced search engine.

For a monthly fee of $49.95, Silver Members receive the Bronze features, in addition to a 30 second video message making their profile stand out even more. This video profile option gives each Care Aide the opportunity to make a strong and lasting impression on potential employers. Video profiles give employers the opportunity to see how each of the Care Aides communicates and expresses themselves prior to setting up interviews.

For a monthly fee of $99.95, Gold Members receive all of the Silver features and are also featured on the front page of the website in rotation with other featured members. This gives Care Aides a chance to stand out in a competitive healthcare market.

“CareAides. com takes healthcare employment-matchmaking one step further” stated Darren Little, Co-founder and V. P. of Marketing for CareAides. com. “Care Aides complete an online employment questionnaire that matches their information with that of the employers advanced search criteria. The service will save members time and money giving them a platform to be seen and heard. This personal advertising opportunity replaces the need to place expensive conventional ads, or spend valuable time, transportation costs, courier fees etc. searching for employment in the healthcare industry in Canada.”

CareAides. com caters to Employers, both private individuals and companies, who are looking to hire Care Aides. Employers can purchase monthly memberships for as low as $99.95 per month which includes basic and advanced employee search options and multiple job posting opportunities. Alaskan Eagle Visits Seattle to Benefit Children Two Nonprofit Organizations Work Together for Kids

Alaskan Eagle Visits Seattle to Benefit Children Two Nonprofit Organizations Work Together for Kids

This month, World Association for Children and Parents (WACAP) and the Alaska Raptor Center will join their efforts to raise awareness for the welfare of both children and. . . bald eagles.

(PRWEB) November 9, 2003

SEATTLE, WA (PRWEB) November 10, 2003 – One organization helps endangered birds; the other helps needy children. But this month, World Association for Children and Parents (WACAP) and the Alaska Raptor Center will join their efforts to raise awareness for both causes.

Through dedicated efforts of WACAP supporters, representatives of the Alaska Raptor Center will arrive in Seattle on November 12, 2003, bringing with them Volta, a large bald eagle.

From November 13-15, Volta will visit local elementary schools. In this setting, school children will learn about the birds, their habitats and Alaska firsthand during the up-close visits.

Then, on Saturday evening, November 15, Volta and his trainers will head to the WACAP ChildrenÂ’s Hope Auction at the Washington State Trade and Convention Center. Here, the nationÂ’s symbol will help to encourage attendees to reach deep into their pockets as they bid on a chance to fly to Sitka courtesy of Alaska Airlines, tour Sitka and go behind the scenes at the Raptor Center, and help release an eagle into the wild. Proceeds from that auction bid will benefit both organizations.

“Everyone loves to help children, but when this majestic eagle comes on stage and spreads his wings, or even just looks around at the crowd, you’ll know that even Volta understands how precious children are and how important it is to help them with our generosity,” said Kristine Leander, Director of Development and Communication.

WACAPÂ’s mission is to find homes for children who need them and to provide nutrition, healthcare and education to orphaned and impoverished children in nine countries. The ChildrenÂ’s Hope Auction raises funds toward these goals.

In keeping with WACAP’s global commitment, several international trips are offered as auction items—including excursions to China, Russia, Africa, Italy, Hawaii and Mexico. There are also many beautiful and unusual items from around the world, as well as numerous autographed sports memorabilia items, fantastic dinners and fun experiences.

“This auction is one of the best secrets in Seattle,” said Sandra Lindstrom, auction co-chair. “Not many people are aware of it, yet it is very much a first-class event with incredible items, and anyone can reserve a seat.”

For more information about the ChildrenÂ’s Hope Auction, call WACAP at 206-575-4550 or visit www. wacap. org.

About Alaska Raptor Center

The Alaska Raptor Center was established in 1980 in the backyard of two concerned Sitkans, starting with one injured bald eagle. The effort grew, and volunteers treated eagles at their homes until 1983, when they moved to a small shed on the campus of Sheldon Jackson College. In 1991 the Center moved to its present location on 17 acres bordered by the Indian River.

Each year, the Alaska Raptor Center provides medical treatment to approximately 200 injured bald eagles and other birds. Our goal is to release our patients back into the wild; some, however, are injured so severely they could not survive in the wild even after rehabilitation. These birds may join our Raptors-in-Residence, providing excitement and education for more than 40,000 annual visitors and for the 14,000 schoolchildren we reach through the Adopt-A-Raptor program and classroom presentations around the country.

About World Association for Children and Parents

In the belief that every child deserves a family, WACAP places children who need homes into adoptive families and provides humanitarian aid to children who are orphaned or living in poverty. WACAP, a pioneer in international adoption, has placed more than 8,000 children and helped an additional 160,000 children worldwide.

The Business Courier Enlists Cincinnati. MD to help identify the 2006 Health Care Heroes in Cincinnati

The Business Courier Enlists Cincinnati. MD to help identify the 2006 Health Care Heroes in Cincinnati

Cincinnati. MD has been added as a strategic partner for the Business Courier in order to increase the reach of nominations for the prestigious Health Care Heroes awards program.

Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) October 26, 2005

Cincinnati. MD has been added as a strategic partner for the Business Courier in order to increase the reach of nominations for the prestigious Health Care Heroes awards program.

"www. Cincinnati. MD provides us with a way to extend the reach of the Health Care Heroes program to many more Greater Cincinnatians as www. Cincinnati. MD has a significant number of consumers and health care professionals that visit their site. Since consumers are already providing feedback on their health care professional, it made sense to ask them to nominate health care professionals that have gone above and beyond the normal call of duty,” said Doug Bolton, publisher of the Business Courier, the region’s dominant provider of local business news and information.

Joe Benza Jr., CEO of parent company Directories. MD, said, "This community partnership is just a great matchup. While patients come to www. Cincinnati. MD to find a good doctor, to provide feedback or read testimonials from other patients about doctors of interest, they can also nominate their special doctor, nurse or other health care professional for this prestigious heroic award. This award is just another way to thank the hundreds of doctors, nurses and other health care professionals for the wonderful unrecognized things they do for us each day.” The public can take an active part in this nomination process by logging on to www. Cincinnati. MD and clicking the Health Care Heroes link on the bottom left of the homepage, then following the nomination directions.

Www. Cincinnati. MD is currently averaging more than 100,000 unique visitors per month. Many are searching for health care professionals, leaving feedback for their doctor and/or reading the latest news blog written by Jeremy Wright or health tips from Julie Isphording.

“With the over 200 health care professional premier members, we expect the … feedback and unique visitors to continue to grow,” said Benza. The deadline to nominate your Health Care Hero is Dec. 2. The nominees will be invited to attend the Health Care Heroes program in February.

This new site has become the No. 1 Healthcare Website in Cincinnati by attracting more than 100,000 unique visitors each month and has received more than 6 million hits since April. The www. Cincinnati. MD site is the only local Website offering consumers a free health care resource that provides comprehensive information, including ratings and word-of-mouth feedback on more than 6,900 medical professionals in Greater Cincinnati. The site also provides a medium for physicians to gain insight into their patients’ satisfaction, to help improve the quality of care delivered. There is no. com in www. Cincinnati. MD …only healthcare. The new. MD extension is certainly taking the place of. com in the health care arena. www. Cincinnati. MD is owned by Directories. MD.

Unique Building by Tsang Architecture Opens in Alhambra, California

Unique Building by Tsang Architecture Opens in Alhambra, California

Unique Los Angeles branch building by Tsang Architecture for Hong Kong based Wing Lung Bank opens in Alhambra, California. Modern architecture embellished by largest glass tile mural in North America.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 2, 2006

A unique Los Angeles branch building for Wing Lung Bank opens on Friday, March 3rd, 2006, at 201 East Valley Boulevard in the City of Alhambra, California. The building has been designed by Tsang Architecture, an award winning San Francisco firm www. tsangarchitecture. com.

Describing the unusual building, Vivek Anand, Project Designer, says, "The 2 story office building is modern and yet recalls an age when banks reflected the richness of a community. This distinguishes the building in a time when modern often means severe. The building derives its beauty from the act of layering. Layers of an exuberant and colorful mural, gray and green stucco walls, large square openings, tall bamboo, graceful curtain walls and textured Venetian plaster in reds and greens weave together this unique building."

The corner of Valley Boulevard and Monterey is marked by an elliptical entrance hall which declares the presence of Wing Lung Bank on this Alhambra street which is acquiring a reputation as a miniature Wall Street for the local Chinese American community. The largest glass tile mural in Northern America wraps itself around this elliptical entrance hall and leads the eye into and around the building. Ignatius Tsang, Principal, adds, "The bank and the building are reflected in the form of the mural. It reflects the San Gabriel Mountains and the stability of the bank in its mountain imagery but most importantly it reflects richness - the richness of life, a city and community."

The mural has been designed by San Francisco artist and muralist Neil Seth Levine www. glasstilemural. com and fabricated by Becoming Tile. The exercise of designing and realizing the mural was an education and utilized processes which have never before been used in such work. The experience of entering through this mural and then walking around it as one moves through the bank is a unique one for clients and visitors and gives one startling perspectives of the mural and the building. The building has been built by PW Commercial Construction and has been completed on a tight urban site in 15 months.

The bank building is not only a public space; it is also an office for the bank staff. The daylit Banking Hall, planting, decks and a second story Landscape Court make for a healthy and inspiring work environment. The Grand Opening is scheduled for Friday, March 3rd and will be celebrated in true American Hong Kong Chinese style with a Time Capsule Dedication Ceremony and a Lion Dance.

This will be the second bank building designed by Tsang Architecture in the City of Alhambra. In 2000 it was presented an award by the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce for the new Los Angeles Branch of Shanghai Commercial Bank at 383 East Valley Boulevard, two blocks from Wing Lung Bank. The award was given to the firm for its “outstanding contribution toward making Alhambra a more beautiful city.”

The Wing Lung project team consisted of Ignatius Tsang, Martin Chinn, Roger Sayre, Vivek Anand, Hattem Nigma and Angela Rush-Jackson.

Ignatius Tsang began Tsang Architecture 15 years ago. The small firm has diverse projects under its belt, ranging from healthcare projects like the AVON Foundation Comprehensive Breast Center at San Francisco General Hospital and award winning adult day care centers for the Institute on Aging, to numerous commercial and residential projects.

Nutrimark, LLC is poised for dramatic growth. The company is the distributor of the only herbal extract clinically proven to prevent hangover symptoms, with results of the study peer-reviewed and published in a journal of the American Medical Association.1

(PRWEB) January 27, 2005

The patented extract, called Tex-OE™, is derived from the skin of the fruit of the Prickly Pear Cactus (Opuntia ficus indica) by a patented process. For the purpose of preventing hangover symptoms, it can only be found in the product, distributed by Nutrimark, known as HPF Hangover Prevention Formula™.

When the news of the new patented herbal extract with the proven ability to prevent hangover symptoms hit major U. S. wire services, and was broadcast worldwide, sales of HPF Hangover Prevention Formula have taken off at Nutrimark’s websites and the company’s 24/7 call center. Now, to meet widespread requests from customers to offer HPF at retail stores, Nutrimark is formulating plans to market its products at retail stores across the country. In addition, the company is planning a nationwide advertising and marketing campaign to drive sales to stores carrying HPF and other Nutrimark products2. To accomplish its expansion goals, the company is currently raising capital by offering qualified investors membership units in Nutrimark, LLC.

Nutrimark’s CEO, Gerald J. Stefanko, an award-winning advertising and marketing professional with wide-ranging experience at national and international advertising and marketing firms commented. “HPF Hangover Prevention Formula is rumbling on the launch pad with all systems go. The brand, with its proprietary extract, is rapidly gaining awareness throughout the world via the media’s pickup of the patented Prickly Pear extract’s published report in the American Medical Association journal. And, as a result of HPF’s amazing effectiveness, word-of-mouth continues to promote the sales of HPF among family and friends. Nutrimark is now looking to build the capital necessary to maintain a promotional presence with persistence in the markeplace.” The company also plans to continue with an intense PR program which has already begun to build brand awareness through the placement of stories on HPF Hangover Prevention Formula and other products in national general interest and health magazines as well as reports on television, radio and newspaper stories across the country.

Nutrimark is in the process of raising its first round of investment capital. The proceeds will be used to market its product nationally and internationally. Anyone interested in finding out more about the company should contact Mr. Stefanko directly.

Mr. Stefanko, also suggests, “it is very likely that today the alcohol hangover is the most omnipresent and frequently recurring affliction in the world. In the United States alone 109 million people enjoy drinking alcohol. This presents an idea of the huge potential for sales of this product alone”.

1 An article in the June 28, 2004 issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine, a publication of the American Medical Association, presents a medical peer review of a published manuscript of clinical research performed, by a noted alcohol research team, on the role of a new patented herbal extract, Tex-OE™ in preventing symptoms from the alcohol hangover. The clinical study, performed by the same distinguished medical research team, that published a comprehensive report entitled The Alcohol Hangover, presented in the Annals of Internal Medicine in July, 2000, was performed among 55 graduate medical students at Tulane University. In the double-blind, randomized placebo study conducted at typical-style college barbecue parties on campus at Tulane, the patented extract, Tex-OE, derived by a special process from the skin of the fruit of a specific type of cactus, was found to be the first product ever deemed to be “statistically significant” at preventing hangover symptoms when taken before ingesting alcohol. The published study indicates that the subjects who took the supplement (versus a placebo) were half as likely to suffer severe hangover symptoms.

The peer-reviewed article published in the AMA’s Archives of Internal Medicine validates the claims of the Southern California company, Nutrimark, LLC, that is now selling Tex-OE as a dietary supplement. Trademarked under the name HPF Hangover Prevention Formula™, the herbal extract capsules are sold nationally via an toll free 24/7 call center (800) 720-2970 and via the internet at: www. hangoverprevention. com and www. perfectequation. net
