A New Twist On Convert to Purchase

A New Twist On Convert to Purchase

Fastrack Healthcare Systems, Inc. announced today a new incentive for provider’s to convert to their Internet based Hosting Solution for HME, Respiratory, Home Infusion Pharmacies and Home Healthcare Agencies.

Plainview, NY (Vocus) March 17, 2010

Fastrack Healthcare Systems, Inc. announced today a new incentive for provider’s to convert to their Internet based Hosting Solution (http://www. onlyfastrack. com/online_hosting. htm) for HME (http://www. onlyfastrack. com/hme. htm), Respiratory, Home Infusion Pharmacies (http://www. onlyfastrack. com/infusion. htm) and Home Healthcare Agencies (http://www. onlyfastrack. com/homecare. htm).

According to Spencer Kay, President of Fastrack, “We are finding many providers torn between deciding on having the software vendor “Host” the software or running it in-house on their own servers. There are pros and cons to both methods and since Fastrack offers both, we can offer an objective opinion. To help providers in making the decision we introduced our new “Convert to Purchase” program.”

The Fastrack Convert to Purchase program allows a provider to start out on the Fastrack Hosted Solution which offers integrated billing, operational & clinical software. At anytime they can bring the system in-house if they find that method meets their needs better. If the client decides to purchase the software license to run on their own server they will receive a substantial discount on the purchase price, in effect receiving partial credit for the monthly hosting fees already paid.

Kay went on to add, “Hosting offers the benefit of a small upfront fee, low monthly payments and Fastrack performing IT functions including; installing upgrades, server maintenance and daily back-ups. On the other hand owning the software license provides more control, ease in interfacing to third party products, potential to take advantage of accelerated depreciation under Section 179 of the IRS Tax Code and should add to the value of the business if the provider decides to sell his/her business.”

Fastrack is the leading provider of software & technology to Home Medical Equipment, Durable Medical Equipment, Respiratory Providers, Home Infusion Pharmacies & Home Health Care Agencies. Only Fastrack offers a solution for each individual segment of Home Care as well as one system encompassing virtually every clinical, operational and financial aspect of a provider offering several or all of these product/service lines within one integrated Microsoft SQL database. Zero Valent Iron for Soil and Water Remediation

Zero Valent Iron for Soil and Water Remediation.

The debate over nano-scale versus micro-scale zero valent iron (ZVI) has attracted the attention of leading scientists in the environmental remediation industry. As originators of ZVI permeable reactive barrier (PRB) technology, EnviroMetal Technologies and Adventus Americas join the debate, enjoying the benefit of over 20 years of global experience in field-scale ZVI applications. The news release addresses some key points made by the European Nanotechnology Gateway organisation, via their recent report entitled “Nano zero valent iron - THE solution for water and soil remediation?"

Waterloo, Canada; Oberhausen, Germany (Vocus) August 17, 2010

The Adventus Group, a multinational remediation technology enterprise, provides a review of the Observatory NANO Focus Report 2010 on the issues surrounding nano-scale ZVI (nZVI) for treatment of contaminated water and soil.

Colleagues at our Canadian affiliate; EnviroMetal Technologies Inc (ETI) reviewed this report, available at their website European website (http://www. observatory-nano. eu/project/). It presents useful information on nanoscale zero valent iron (nZVI) use in the EU. As many industry watchers will know, ETI is the originator of ZVI permeable reactive barrier (PRB) technology. The numerous challenges surrounding this technology described in the report’s conclusions reinforce our opinion that while high reactivity nanoscale metals represent an intriguing development in contaminant remediation, significant questions concerning their technical performance and cost, as well as related health and safety issues, need to be answered before these particles can be considered for widespread use as a commercial remedial option.

Specific comments are summarized in a concise report available at nZVI versus ZVI (http://www. adventusgroup. com/pdfs/competitive/nZVI_rebuttal_article_AUG2010.pdf). In addition to the references therein, interested readers are directed to the following sources of information concerning nZVI technology:

US EPA Nanotechnology for Site Remediation Fact Sheet (http://www. epa. gov/tio/download/remed/542-f-08-009.pdf) A detailed review of a California Groundwater Resource Association meeting held in the fall of 2009 on nanotechnology in the environment (http://www. grac. org/spring10.pdf) The environmental sciences and engineering center (http://cgr. ese. ogi. edu/cgi-bin/) at the Oregon Graduate Institute maintains a searchable database containing several articles pertaining to nZVI.

On a related note, the US Interstate Technology Regulatory Council (ITRC, in preparation) will be publishing an updated PRB guidance document in the Fall of 2010, which will include a thorough discussion of PRBs for VOCs and inorganics. We will present a review of this document in an upcoming Adventus newsletter. Rael Deplores Hawking’s Vision of Hostile Alien Invaders

Rael Deplores Hawking’s Vision of Hostile Alien Invaders

Rael, founder and leader of the Raelian Movement, today issued a statement in response to Stephen Hawking’s speculations about hostile extraterrestrials.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) May 1, 2010

Rael, founder and leader of the Raelian Movement (www. rael. org), today issued a statement in response to Stephen Hawking’s speculations about hostile extraterrestrials. Widely previewed in the popular media, Hawking’s pessimistic ruminations are part of an upcoming Discovery Channel television series.

“With these views, Hawking demonstrates that he’s not only physically handicapped but mentally handicapped by the degenerative disease of ‘evolutionism’ or ‘Darwinism,’ ” Rael said. “His fears about murderous, invading aliens are based on the theory of evolution – the myth of evolution, to be more precise. He’s afraid humans are inferior to aliens who might invade. That’s logical, but only if you accept the myth of evolution.”

Rael called evolution “a magical, irrational concept” that does great harm. “Hitler’s views about superior Aryans; slavery and apartheid; and Hawking’s delirium of aliens wiping out humanity all fit perfectly with the evolution myth,” he said, adding that he admires the stance taken by Swedish scientist Soren Lovtrup.

“Lovtrup said Darwinian evolution will one day be considered the greatest deceit in the history of science and that it’s anti-science and false,” he said. “I agree.”

And the truth about the origin of life on Earth?

“It’s the result of intelligent design, not by just one so-called godly designer but by extraterrestrial designers, plural, called the Elohim,” Rael said. “With intelligent design, you automatically have intelligent organization of the universe as well, organization based on peace and love, not on monsters ready to invade and destroy humanity.”

Why?

“Intelligent designers wouldn’t allow anyone to destroy their creation,” Rael said. “What’s more, with cosmic laws based on intelligent design, violent species wind up self-destructing before they can spread their violence to other planets.”

Is this a lesson for humanity?

“We can use weapons of mass destruction to eliminate ourselves,” Rael explained. “We don’t need alien invasions for that; we’re powerful enough and stupid enough to do it ourselves unless peace and love prevail. Stephen Hawking is doing a terrible thing by instilling fear. Fear leads to poor health, bad behaviors and the militaristic policy of weapons accumulation that can lead to humanity’s self-destruction. The world needs peace, love and global disarmament, not fear. And we must eliminate the myth of God and the myth of evolution, since both of these myths perpetuate fear and violence.”

CardioRetinometry Attacked: Latest

CardioRetinometry Attacked: Latest

Facilities to be created in the USA for prevention of arterial disease. Optometrists to await new Camera/microscope developments for Cardioretinometry.

(PRWEB) March 5, 2005

In February, after months of finding normally about 30 entries for CardioRetinometry, the Google search engine suddenly 'exploded' with 'results' increasing daily by 50 or more. It has now reached 350+ and is stabilising. Complaints to Google that these are spurious, virus and Trojan bearing attacks have met with little success.

Their search is, unfortunately at present, contaminating other search engines. Google has become a problem as it can contaminate Metacrawler and other better search engines. I am not an expert and wish the popular Google no harm, but it does not appear to me to be safe to use it at present as about half the 'results' might damage computers even with some McAfee protection, until they take action and exclude the malicious websites. My computer does not have the McAfee privacy and anti-abuse which I found restrictive.

The problem appears to be a Russian 'service' (?) employed to sting anybody who searches for cardioretinometry and to ‘snowstorm’ and wipe out the subject. A recent search found a so called enyclopaedia. Rather insultingly, after being invited to learn more about it, ‘CardioRetinometry’ was not listed with ‘cardiovascular’ as should have been the case. Instead one was invited to enter the word in the 'search' box. McAfee immediately reported a hacking attack and Trojan being sent to me.

Too late! My computer was damaged. Clearly somebody or organisation is very frightened that this new, inexpensive and non-invasive system of optometric preventive medicine to be available through optmetrists, could extend via every optometrist to the public, enabling everybody to learn how to reduce their arterial cholesterol nutritionally; become more healthy; rarely need a doctor; never need beta blockers for hypertension and be free of the threat from potentially damaging Statin type drugs to unnecessarily lower blood cholesterol. Some Statins have now been withdrawn as too dangerous with compensation being paid. (Cholesterol in the diet has been a hoax - one would need to be a cannibal to get the damaging kind)

This unique and severe virus - Trojan – Spyware attack on CardioRetinometry strongly suggests that a real threat to sales of these immensely profitable drugs (vastly more costly and profitable than vitamins) is anticipated from CardioRetinometry and has provoked the virus attack hoping to infect and prevent people who wish to know more about CardioRetinometry, by having their computers damaged.

Look for. ru in the bottom line of a result. (.ru is a Russian origin website usually not contactable by e-mail) Do not click on anything tha has. ru in the bottom or top line of the address/locator in the search engine's result. The top line will seem to be perfectly OK. But do not be fooled by the top line. Further attacks from other countries are expected.

They are cleverly using the key words ‘Bush’ or ‘British Medical Journals’ or ‘cardioretinometry’ - or ‘BMJ.’ The Google ‘finds’ may appear to be a vitamin company, encyclopedia (American spelling) holiday offers, all innocent sounding, harmless looking ‘websites.’

The www. vitamincfoundation. org/ (http://www. vitamincfoundation. org/) website, promoting vitamin C and publicising the nutritional reversal of arterial disease and atheroma is probably the most honest, factual, comprehensive health website on the Internet. It described CardioRetinometry as possibly making 'cardiologists into cabdrivers.' Perhaps that was too much.

The Bolen Report also features it on www. bolenreport. com

Optometrists can, before registering for enrolment for training in the new speciality, register to provide the new service as a ‘CardioRetinometry Facility,' before becoming 'Consultants in CardioRetinometry.' They may see actual ‘before and after’ images on my website at www. hullcontactlensclinic. co. uk/cardior. htm (http://www. hullcontactlensclinic. co. uk/cardior. htm).

Experience with English Optometrists has shown quite unexpectedly, that some training is required for all to understand and correctly interpret the images. After the BBC TV News broadcast in Europe I received invitations to be interviewed for taping TV News on East and West Coasts and have been invited to address the Macula Group of the University of California Berkeley Campus later.

On the www. hullcontact lens clinic. co. uk/cardior/htm website will be seen the ‘Heart filled with Eye’ logo to be displayed by optometrists either after registering and qualifying as Consultants in CardioRetinometry with AntiCoronary Clinics (UK) Ltd. 20-22 Brook St. HULL. England HU2 8LA. Fax 0044 1482 227636. or providing services as a ‘facility’ for CardioRetinometry.

Eventually a USA University Faculty of Cardioretinometry will doubtless be sponsored by a philanthropist concerned for Public Health.

Remembering how we read in Observer newspaper, of a European ‘whistleblower’ having to flee his country and keep running when the profits of a major pharmaceutical company were threatened, back-up images are stored at a secret location. Other optometrists in the UK and now in N. America are already working on this and are to carry on the work if threats to me or CardioRetinometry become more personal and serious.

Concerned Optometrists, before recognition as 'Consultant in Cardioretinometry,' may enjoy free use of the service for their patients immediately, for the time being, by sending good quality images of one eye of a person for atheroma assessment. Blood pressure and medication information should ideally be included.

Because the service is prophylactic (arresting and reversing changes and preventative of actual disease) it does not need a physicianÂ’s approval as prophylaxis. It must be understood that as prophylaxis it applies to people with a retinal arterial atheroma grading of 2.5 or under on the Scheie scale of 0-4.0.

It is not available in therapeutic form for the treatment of what should be considered to have progressed and become actual disease, beyond grade 2.5. At these grades therapeutic reversal of arterial disease is needed and should have a physician's approval and request for such treatment.

To Recap: Up to Scheie Grade 2.5 is acceptable for prophylaxis. Grade 2.6 and more becomes treatment of disease, no longer prevention. This conforms with my statement defining the borderline in the UK optometric press (Optician Letters 9th May 2003 and again in April 2004) I would not personally accept patients beyond Scheie Grade 2.5 without a written request from the patentÂ’s physician, to whom such patients should be referred when diagnosed by the Optometrist in the UK.

’Hearteries’ brand Vitamin and/or Vitamin – Nutrient supplements will be made available in the USA for reduction of the common atheroma. This occurs in virtually everybody. I am completelky confident, in view of the mass of confirmatory research linking lack of vitamin C to heart disease, thet the improvements demonstrated by the sequential images, which I regard as a reasonable surrogate outcome predictor of heart condition, will signify reduced risk of heart attack (Coronary Heart Disease) Stroke and Aneurysm.

I stated in the British Medical Journal that I anticipate the method being a better surrogate outcome predictor of coronary heart disease than electron beam tomography, principally because it allows more precise measurement by direct observation of the arteries.

Improvements should be accompanied by a fall in excess blood pressure (Hypertension). These improvements result as cholesterol dissolves out of the arteries - to be witnessed sequentially after the appropriate amount of nutritional supplementation has been determined in each case. There are very great variations in the amounts of the nutrients needed not only between individuals but in the same person varying with stresses.

Cardioretinometry led to the discovery of the existence of cholesterol blockages in the veins - against the received medical wisdom, as I stated in the British Medical Journal. In the veins these deposits add greatly to peripheral circulatory resistance. About five times more arterial pressure is then needed to maintain ssufficient pressure in the veins to return the blood to the heart. It may therefore be that CardioRetinometry has identified the cause of Essential Hypertension.

Send fundus images (retinal photographs) to e-mail cardioretinometry@hotmail. co. uk protected from spam bots

The introductory service is free of charge in the interests of Public Health and the advancement of CardioRetinometry.

It is a huge undertaking however, and I am looking for a large USA group of optometrists to become involved and carry it forward.

Contact me through e-mail protected from spam bots and I shall try to answer all letters. Please note: People (not patients – this is prevention) should not contact me directly but via their optometrist, who should have a good quality fundus camera without which the service is not possible in the external ‘Facilities’. There are also special requirements for the camera equipment which are to be arranged with suppliers of fundus imaging apparatus and software. Manufacturers should contact me and optometrists should delay purchase of new funduis cameras until these matters are finalised.

The subject has been researched in the UK since the late ‘90’s but I was precipitated into action by the research of Professor Wong, demonstrating a link between retinal arterial changes and the later development of hypertension, which required my intervention in ‘Rapid Responses’ to his paper in the British Medical Journal. At that stage I had many successful ‘before and after’ images showing not only the apparent arrest of ‘ageing’ (if it is represented by arterial atheroma reduction) but instead of continued arterial deterioration, I have many imaged ‘proofs’ of actual arterial improvement over a six and half year interval.

As this is approaching 10% of a lifetime I think I can say conservatively, that trained optometrists, have it in their power to extend life. Sydney J Bush DOpt. PhD. Hull. England 4th March 2005. Perception Strategies Executive Speaks on Panel of Award Winners

Perception Strategies Executive Speaks on Panel of Award Winners

Company owner speaks to women's business group about winning Blue Chip Award and women achieving success in business.

Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) December 5, 2005

Ms. Brooke Billingsley, Vice President of healthcare mystery shopping firm Perception Strategies, Inc., recently spoke on a panel of past Blue Chip Business Award winners. The roundtable discussion was held during an Indianapolis banquet held for Network of Women in Business members.

“Much of what we were able to share as panel members were the lessons we had learned as business owners,” explained Billingsley. “What steps we took to find success, what pitfalls we avoided, and the value of perception in the public eye—those topics of discussion were important to the members of NOWIB. As a woman business owner, I have invested much of my life in these areas, and it was an honor to share advice through a roundtable such as this.”

A public speaker for 15 years, Billingsley seeks to share knowledge with other women, spurring them on to become successful in their own ventures. Visualizing a dream and using every resource to work towards that goal, she says, is the most important secret of success. “As a speaker, I often meet women who have given up on their dreams of being successful in business. That is a real tragedy. Somewhere along the way, they have been told that accomplishing their goals is impossible. These women believe the misinformation, thus selling themselves short. I feel strongly about encouraging and empowering women in business whenever I can, because we are just as capable as men in fulfilling big dreams. I’m living proof that not only is it possible for women to own successful businesses, they can be award winners in their ventures.”

Since 1998, Perception Strategies has been a leader in customer service research, management consulting, training, and mystery shopping, serving the needs of healthcare providers across the country. The company is owned and operated by Kevin and Brooke Billingsley, who bring more than 20 years of experience in healthcare marketing and customer service. Headquartered in Indianapolis, the firm has worked with clients in 40 states. In the last three years, its revenue and headquarters staff have doubled. Sales are forecasted at $1 million for 2005.

An expert in business strategy consulting (http://www. tgcpinc. com/Solutions/Strategic-Alignment-for-Organizational-Effectiveness/148/) and the leadership competencies (http://www. tgcpinc. com/Solutions/Refining-Individual-Leadership-Competencies/144/) needed to execute that strategy effectively, Dr. Fish will share some of her experience during a panel discussion of coaching and mentoring in organizations. The goal of the panel is to highlight the different roles coaching and mentoring can play in helping women develop and advance into leadership positions.

Dr. Fish regularly provides leadership development coaching for corporate executives as well as leaders in professional service firms. Her work focuses on helping individuals fuel organizational performance by increasing their own effectiveness in leadership roles. “Most people who rise to a leadership level in an organization have done so because of distinct strengths they have exhibited,” says Fish. “If they can learn to capitalize on those strengths while simultaneously minimizing the effects of their blind spots, they not only continue to progress in their careers, but they also contribute very measurably to the organization’s bottom line.”

The emphasis throughout the day will be on assessing all aspects of their current situation, and learning new techniques and skills for taking control and making changes.

The range of topics covered in one day makes this a truly focused, holistic, women’s life coaching event. Topics range from personal situations, work, skills and interests, self esteem, women’s health, right through to image, body shapes and even ‘your colours’.

SheTIME is expertly hosted and facilitated by Jenny Ungless, founder of City Life Coaching. Jenny Ungless is a fully trained life and career coach, an adviser to the Association of Coaching (the UK Trade Association for coaches), and the official life coach for monster. co. uk, the countryÂ’s leading online recruitment site.

“We’ll help you to assess all aspects of your life, get clear about what’s working and what isn’t, and give you new techniques and skills for taking control and making changes”, explains Jenny Ungless.

Joining Jenny is wellbeing coach and image consultant Jennifer Weeks. The day is devised and produced by Simetri Communications.

SheTIME is very different from other personal development events because it looks at four key areas of life (your personal situation, work, womenÂ’s wellbeing and image) in harmony, and is packed full of practical techniques for you to apply straight away. The learning potential is maximised so that women can start making changes (minor or major) as soon as they want.

“The day is designed to be time efficient and cost effective, delivering professional expertise, life-coaching and practical techniques in a one-day format that suits our time-pressured lives”, Fran Diack, Simetri Communications.

In addition to the opportunities of learning from the professionals and hearing other people's experiences, sheTIME has the added benefit of the chance for women to talk individually with the experts during the breaks about their own situation. sheTIME is also offering seminar attendees a 50% discount on a personal life coaching session with Jenny Ungless and image consultancy session with Jennifer Weeks one month after the seminar.

*As a special launch-event treat, comedian Sarah Millican (runner up in “Funny Woman” June 05, the prestigious national comedy competition for new female comedians) will be performing at sheTIME, sharing her most recent life changes!

Labor is one of two large cost centers in the food-service business, and can account for more than thirty-percent (30%) of the expenses in a well managed restaurant or club. Managers spend hours every week deciding how to schedule their labor force - time that could be spent with guests or managing other aspects of the business. Poorly scheduling the work force can result in severe negative consequences for the business including higher turnover, reduction in morale, and increased payroll expenses. In development for almost three years, the latest version of http://www. TimeForge. com (http://www. TimeForge. com) provides a quick, simple, and affordable solution for managers to schedule their work force.

According to a recent study performed by TimeForge. com, managers in the restaurant, bar, and club industry spend between one and eight hours every week building their labor schedule. Scheduling employees is a complicated and thankless task, requiring that managers juggle availability sheets, request and manager log books, and sticky notes in addition to memorizing overtime regulations, labor laws, and the staffing needs of the business. With an average salary and benefits package of more than $62,500 per year, managers can cost a restaurant more than $1,000 a month to maintain a basic labor schedule. The latest version of TimeForge. com turns employee scheduling into an automated task that can be performed in a few minutes - saving thousands of dollars every year for the store.

Http://www. TimeForge. com (http://www. TimeForge. com) is an easy-to-use web application that can be accessed remotely by both employees and managers. The software currently assists more than 600 businesses schedule their employees, including many hospitality and food-service establishments such as restaurants, bars, hotels, clubs. However, other companies such as retail centers, health clinics, movie theaters, and realty companies are taking advantage of the easy-to-use and affordable scheduling software. "... I know that it is geared towards restaurants, but we are a real estate company and we love it because it is inexpensive and it is so easy to use." said Nicole, Managing Administrator for Exit Premier Realty.

The labor scheduling software comes with a number of features designed to make managing a schedule simple:

Managers can display schedules in list, grid, or graphical formats. AutoScheduler system builds a complete schedule in seconds. Requests and employee availability are stored indefinitely, and automatically appear on the schedule. Employees are automatically notified by email and text messages of any posted schedule changes. Managers can compare theoretical schedules and actual payroll costs to calculate performance. Employees can swap shifts with other qualified employees. And much more!

Other users, such as Sherry, a manager at Music Man's BBQ, enjoy easy employee scheduling with the TimeForge. com AutoScheduler system. According to Sherry, "It's cut my time to make a schedule in half!" The AutoScheduler system considers millions of employee combinations based on factors such as availability, labor costs, employee strengths, and overtime regulations. The best schedule available for the business is calculated in seconds, and management can modify it where necessary.

If you manage employees, online labor scheduling software is a worthwhile investment. Properly managing labor saves time and money for the business, and improves the job satisfaction of both employees and managers. VYG Singers in University Gospel Concert

VYG Singers in University Gospel Concert

The Finsbury Park Boys, a group of singers from the Victory Youth Group at the UCKG HelpCentre in Seven Sisters Road, were among the performers at a recent charity concert in aid of the Sickle Cell Society.

(PRWEB) June 3, 2006

The Finsbury Park Boys, a group of singers from the Victory Youth Group at the UCKG HelpCentre in Seven Sisters Road, were among the performers at a recent charity concert in aid of the Sickle Cell Society.

The concert was arranged by the African Caribbean Society (ACS) at Thames Valley University in order to raise money for the UK’s leading charity for sufferers from a range of sickle cell disorders (SCD). These are inherited conditions, linked to the shape of the individual’s red blood cells. In Britain SCD is most common among people of African and Caribbean descent.

Speaking on behalf of the Finsbury Park Boys, George Boateng said: “The Thames Valley University gig was a great opportunity for us, for two very good reasons. Firstly, we were delighted to be invited share our style of gospel music with young Christians and non-Christians from a number of universities.

“Secondly, as members of a church with many African and African-Caribbean followers, it was good to be helping the Sickle Cell Society. We know that SCD is not well understood in Britain. This must change so sufferers get the quality care they need. Raising money to educate health carers and other professionals about this condition will make a difference.”

People with the less-flexible sickle cells in their blood instead of normal rounded red cells can suffer bouts of intense pain, damage to such organs as the liver, kidneys, lungs, hear and spleen and sometimes a reduced lifespan. While this does not prevent them from leading normal lives, they need specialist medical attention, particularly in the context of pregnancies, dentistry and operations.

It is estimated that at least one in 10 - 40 Britons of African and African-Caribbean descent have sickle cell trait and one in up to 200 are SCD sufferers. That means there are over 6,000 adults and children in this country with the condition at the present time.

Don't Feel President ClintonÂ’s Pain

Don't Feel President ClintonÂ’s Pain

Heart disease such as President Clinton's should now be diagnosed more accurately and safely with an ultra-high speed scanner.

Los Angeles CA (PRWEB) September 12, 2004

Bill Clinton underwent numerous cardiac stress tests. After his latest one, he declared, “I aced it”. The next morning, we learned that his coronary arteries were 90% occluded. This scenario is not limited to the former President. In fact, it is quite common.

Even though President Clinton’s quadruple bypass surgery was successful and the prognosis for his recovery good, we should all be questioning the wisdom of cardiac stress tests as the first line of detection for coronary artery disease (“CAD”), a disorder that will affect 49% of American men, and 32% of American women at some point in their lifetimes, according to the American Heart Association.

Stress tests are favored as a non-invasive method of testing for CAD. However, according to research performed by Dr. Daniel Berman, Director of Cardiac Imaging at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, there is greater than 50% chance of missing coronary artery disease (CAD) in high-risk patients who have undergone “normal” stress tests. His studies show that even severe CAD, such as occurred with President Clinton, can be missed by the stress test.

With the advent of non-invasive, ultra-high speed scanners such as the Electron Beam Tomogram (EBT), anyone can now be screened for the presence of calcium within the walls of the coronary arteries. The results indicate the degree of risk of suffering from a heart attack if the patient goes untreated. “An EBT can scan the coronary arteries, and determine the presence of atherosclerosis far more accurately than the standard cardiac stress test,” said Douglas Boyd, PhD., the device’s inventor.

If calcium is detected in a non-invasive EBT scan or if the patient is suffering from cardiac symptoms, the patient may be advised to get an electron beam angiogram, which involves performing an EBT test with an injection of dye into a vein in the arm. According to Dr. Boyd “The EBT provides a clear roadmap of the interior of the coronary arteries, and can often find obstructive disease that is missed by stress testing”. Dr. Boyd also points out that EBTs use significantly less radiation than other forms of ultra-high speed scanning.

In President ClintonÂ’s case, even though he can afford the best medical care, his doctors relied on the standard stress test. In my opinion, a non-invasive, ultra-high speed alternative would have placed him at less risk, and possibly resulted in earlier recognition of his need for surgical treatment. In an era in which technology enables doctors to see 3Dimensional images of the anatomy, doctors should change their mode of diagnosis to include more accurate tests that cost less than the cardiac stress test. The public should be encouraged to include preventative scanning to detect potential disorders that can be prevented, reversed or retarded before the onset of costly complications.

May you never feel President ClintonÂ’s pain and please do what is best for yourself.

USLegalForms. com Develops LegalLife™ Resource Center

USLegalForms. com Develops LegalLife™ Resource Center

USLegalForms. com posts free guides and LegalLife™ check list to help consumers get their legal affairs in order.

Jackson, MS (PRWEB) January 29, 2007

People often think about health and finances, but many don't consider legal matters until it is either too late or they face a legal situation. Accidents, natural disasters, emergencies, disputes and death can happen at any time. That is one of the reasons why USLegalForms. com has created a new LegalLife™ Resource Center to help educate consumers on the importance of legal planning and understanding legal issues that can arise today or in the future.

"I need to see an attorney to get my legal life in order is not the first thing on someone's mind. People tend to ignore legal matters until there is a significant problem. In fact, 70% of people die without a Will, a fact that illustrates the task of taking care of legal affairs is put off until it is too late. The Internet has helped this situation by providing a forum for companies like U. S. Legal Forms as well as some innovative law firms to help educate people about their legal needs through easy access to legal information, products and services," said U. S. Legal Forms CEO Frank D. Edens.

The LegalLife™ Resource Center can be found at http://www. uslegalforms. com/legallife/ (http://www. uslegalforms. com/legallife/).

Free information available to the public includes an online guide to Creating a Life Documents File, a LegalLife™ Check Up Questionnaire, an online Guide to Organizing Your LegalLife™ and Fact and Case Illustrations.

Life Documents Planning Packages for each state containing essential legal forms such as will, living will and power of attorney can also be purchased at a starting price of $59.95. Organizers are also available to store and maintain important papers.

Edens refers back to Hurricane Katrina as an example which underscored the difficulties that can arise when people lose all of their important papers. Documents were lost or destroyed after the storm and flooding. Edens says having prepared and stored important legal papers in a grab-and-go format would have saved people a lot of time and energy in trying to replace documents like birth certificates, social security cards, insurance policies, and wills. It was this catastrophic event that challenged Edens and U. S. Legal Forms attorneys to think of how to better serve the public through legal planning tools. At that time, the company developed and released the free online guide to Creating a Life Documents File and soon after, Life Documents Planning Packages and additional resources followed.

The comprehensive resources have now been gathered into one location on USLegalForms. com for consumers to have immediate access to all the tools.

To find out more about U. S. Legal Forms products, please visit USLegalForms. com or call (601) 896-0180.

New Release: TextTransformer 1.0.0

New Release: TextTransformer 1.0.0

Developer tool with an integrated parser generator, a c++ interpreter and a debugger in a visual development environment for the analysis, extraction and transformation of texts - also available as freeware with restricted features.

Hamburg, Germany (PRWEB) December 20, 2005

The newly released product TextTransformer 1.0.0 presents itself after three-year development time as a mature developer tool for the construction of individual programs for the analysis, extraction and transformation of texts. The program offers a visual development environment (IDE) with an integrated parser-generator, a c++ interpreter and a debugger. The range of applications reaches from multiple word substitutions, extractions of information, syntax check, calculations and evaluations of data records up to complete translations from programming languages or developments of scripting languages. Also smaller daily tasks, as the counting of words or the rearrangement of lines of texts are handled fast and easily.

TextTransformer is worldwide the only program conceived for both the development and the execution of programs which analyze a text and synthesize a result.

For this the parser generator produces recursively descendent parsers with an arbitrary look-ahead possibility. Elementary text sections are recognized by regular expressions and these are connected to a grammar as quasi Meta regular expressions. The TextTransformer isn't restricted to formal languages unlike other parser generators but copes with any text structures; unspecified sections simply can be skipped.

To define how the text sections are processed, the designed parser can be extended by semantic actions for a transformation program or a translator. A simple c++ interpreter permits the synthesis of the recognized text sections to a new text or a numeric evaluation of the text contents.

The convenient debugging has to be emphasized: the parsers can be tested stepwise or stopped at breaks in the source text or in the grammar. I. e. the professional developer has the possibility of concentrating fully on the development of the grammar of the parser since testing without a previous compiling is possible. The processing step-by-step shows which text section is recognized next by which grammatical branching.

But that's not all: grammar tests and a syntax check of the interpreter instructions are carried out automatically and the error position is shown by a mouse click. With the transformation manager or the command line tool ready projects can be applied to file groups. The professional version of the TextTransformer can export a ready transformation program even as a c++ code, which can be included into other software products.

"The range of the possible applications with TextTransformer is very versatile", so Dr. Detlef Meyer-Eltz, the developer of TextTransformer, "The program is suitable for individual problems for which there otherwise aren't any prefabricated tools: Whether conversion programs for special formats of health insurance companies or other enterprises, log-file analyses frequently needed by system administrators or contents-related text analyses, such as a tension analysis of a novel."

The software is suitable as well for the educational purposes: Pupils and students can easily and practically learn by it, how a programming language works. For linguisticians TextTransformer is a tool to carry out text statistics and students of other faculties can make arbitrary data evaluations.

TextTransformer 1.0.0 has a comfortable user interface with syntax highlighting and immediate localization of errors. The rule repository is organized like a database, where scripts with definitions for tokens, productions, and class methods can be inserted, deleted or changed. A detailed context sensitive help, a tutorial and various wizards help the user with words and deeds.

"After significant beta testing with early adopter clients, we have successfully integrated our US based call center representatives with Talk2Rep@Home, our US home-based agent model, and have achieved significant reliability, scalability and cost savings while reducing our carbon footprint", states Talk2Rep's CEO, Jim Ryan.

"Talk2Rep's Beta Clients have achieved cost savings in excess of 28% while improving customer satisfaction and retention. We have done this by balancing a combination facility based call center representatives and @Home workers in a way that significantly increases service levels and improves customer satisfaction. We have utilized our proprietary call center technologies which incorporate "best agent available" strategies to maximize client and customer satisfaction," states Ryan.

After speaking to both clients and new prospects it was evident that Talk2Rep's "Buy USA" strategy of US based brick and mortar call centers combined with its US based home-agent strategy is the best outsourcing solution for clients for their customer services, technical support and more. Offshore call center alternatives put at risk both quality and customer confidentiality at risk.

"Customer retention is paramount during these difficult economic times," says Ryan. "Our Clients cannot afford a dissatisfied customer and we have proactively engaged with them to design a business model that reduces their costs while representing the quality of their brand.

"While many call center agencies have abandoned their facilities in the United States, Talk2Rep is firmly committed to maintaining and expanding its operations and creating jobs right here in America.

"Today we receive approximately 200-300 resumes per week from people interested in these jobs from across the United States by 'word of mouth'. With this announcement," Ryan States, "Talk2Rep anticipates this number to more than triple."

DPS Health and UCLA Launch Text Messaging for Health Program in South Africa

DPS Health and UCLA Launch Text Messaging for Health Program in South Africa

Research project will discover if text messaging between low income women with diabetes will improve ability to Manage Their Health.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 22, 2010

DPS Health announces the launch of a joint initiative with the University of California, Los Angeles and Women for Peace, South Africa that will study the effectiveness of a text messaging support intervention with low-income South African women living with type 2 diabetes. The research is designed to determine if regular support from a peer (who also has diabetes) using text messaging can provide simple and affordable approaches of peer-to-peer social support and offer effective educational and motivational messages.

DPS Health, building upon its propriety behavior change technology platform called Behavior Change Suite™, developed the software to power peer-to-peer support interventions through Short Message Service (SMS) with access from common mobile phones (more expensive Smartphone not required). This approach promotes behavior change through both individual interaction and activating the peer supporter. Individuals receive condition specific questions, messages and prompts texted to their phone and are encouraged to communicate via text with their peer in response to the questions. This approach can also be used to measure outcomes from a variety of interventions by collecting patient reported health status and symptoms. It is expected that this approach will be able to: 1) increase peer-to-peer support leading to decreased feelings of social isolation, increased self-efficacy and improved outcomes; 2) increase patients’ ability to manage their own health and disease(s); and 3) provide effective engagement by individuals with limited Internet access or skills.

Supported by the Peers for Progress Program of the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation, the UCLA Global Center for Children and Families is piloting this novel text messaging application to engage low-income women with diabetes in South Africa. Three teams are collaborating with DPS Health on the design, implementation, and evaluation: UCLA led by Mary Jane Rotheram-Borus; South African Women for Peace agency coordinated by Executive Director, Margaret Gwesgwe and Marion Keim at the University of the Western Cape; and Mark Tomlinson at Stellenbosch University.

In addition to 12 weekly small group, psycho-educational meetings, social support and monitoring on the mobile phone is a key aspect of the program. Women with diabetes are queried daily about their diabetes self-management, and they answer questions about their health and habits through text messaging at random times throughout the day. Examples of the questions include: “Did you have a healthy breakfast? Who supported you this week around your diabetes? Did you take your medicine? How many fruits and vegetables did you eat yesterday?” In addition, women are paired with a buddy to support healthy lifestyle changes. Women’s responses are routed through a centralized server and then passed as a text message to buddy pairs and to the clinical host for data analysis.

According to Dr. Rotherum-Boris, “This study will provide critical information about how to create sustainable and affordable approaches that improve the lives of those with diabetes and other chronic diseases. UCLA is excited about this opportunity to partner with DPS Health.”

“DPS is thrilled to be associated with the creation of potential solutions to chronic disease management that may cost-effectively improve health outcomes. Final results from the study will be available later in 2010,” said Neal Kaufman, M. D., M. P.H., co-founder and CEO of DPS Health and UCLA Professor of Pediatrics and Public Health, who presented this new program at the 2010 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Diabetes Translation Conference on April 15, 2010 in Kansas City, Missouri.

About DPS Health

DPS Health, founded in 2004, creates software solutions using an innovative, flexible and scalable technological platform (Behavior Change Suite™) that implement research-proven best practices of self-management support. In one example, DPS Health worked with faculty from the University of Pittsburgh to develop the web-based Virtual Lifestyle Management (VLM) service based upon the NIH-funded Diabetes Prevention Program (also developed by the University of Pittsburgh). Other examples of interventions built on the BCS platform include the Physical Activity Data Warehouse™, and the Lifecorder Online™ web applications with the Suzuken Company. Additionally, DPS Health has developed an SMS peer-to-peer support application that utilizes text messages on regular mobile phones.

About UCLA Center for Children and Families

Since 1994, the UCLA Center for Children and Families has been mounting community trials for families at high risk for a range of poor health outcomes. With more than 15 evidence-based interventions for families, the Center is a leader in utilizing new technologies and good clinical practices to improve the quality of care and patient outcomes, especially by community health workers in China, Thailand, Vietnam, AU, Uganda, South Africa, and Mexico.

Third Brigade’s Host Intrusion Prevention System Stops Attacks That Could Exploit Recent Security Vulnerabilities

Third Brigade’s Host Intrusion Prevention System Stops Attacks That Could Exploit Recent Security Vulnerabilities

Vulnerabilities exist in a broad range of enterprise software applications.

Ottawa, Ontario (PRWEB) November 9, 2005

Third Brigade, Inc. (www. thirdbrigade. com) today announced that customers that have deployed Deep Security, its advanced Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) are protected from attacks that could exploit new software vulnerabilities recently disclosed for Microsoft, Linux, Computer Associates, Novell, Snort and Veritas.

Microsoft: Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Microsoft Windows that allow an attacker to remotely execute code on the vulnerable system and take complete control of it. The vulnerabilities exist in the rendering of Windows Metafile (WMF) and Enhanced Metafile (EMF) image formats, and any program that renders these files could be vulnerable to an attack.

Linux: A new Linux worm known as Linux/Plupii or Linux/Lupper exploits vulnerabilities in PHP and Perl CGI scripts on Linux and Unix based web servers. The worm propagates by searching for, and exploiting, unpatched systems that remain vulnerable.

In addition to these vulnerability announcements, there have been a number of other recent vulnerabilities that affect enterprise software, including:

Computer Associates Unicenter Message Queuing Buffer Overflow (CVE-2005-2668)  Novell ZENworks Patch Management Multiple SQL Injection Vulnerabilities (CVE-2005-3315)  Snort Back Orifice Pre-processor Buffer Overflow (CAN-2005-3252)  Veritas NetBackup Java Remote Format String vulnerability (CAN-2005-2715)

Compromise of systems with any of these vulnerabilities can result in loss of system availability, damage to data integrity or exposure of confidential information and highlights the severity of today’s threat environment.

“Although patch Tuesday puts the focus squarely on Microsoft, it’s important to remember that vulnerabilities exist in all commercial software, as well as custom software applications,” said Brian O’Higgins, Chief Technology Officer of Third Brigade. “Enterprises need to complement their existing defense mechanisms with a host-based intrusion prevention system that protects a broad set of platforms and applications,” he added.

Third Brigade customers are advised to apply updates containing the latest filters that protect against these vulnerabilities.

The LaserComb ( Class 2 Laser Comb medical laser for home use to treat hair loss, scalp and damaged hair problems) is now available in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei and the rest of South East Asia.

SINGAPORE (PRWEB) January 27, 2004

The HairMax LaserComb (a medical device for home use to treat hair loss, scalp and damaged hair problems) is now available in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

" We are greatly excited to be able to introduce this new medical breakthrough to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia as the HairMax LaserComb is affordable, it is designed to be used at home and there's no need for users to pay again and again for unproven and ineffective treatments at hair care centers " according to Mr. Timothy Chan Managing Director of DermaLogix Cosmedics " now users in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia can buy the Laser Comb directly from office or at any of our authorized outlets or from our online shop at http://www. DermaLogix. net (http://www. DermaLogix. net) "

The HairMax LaserComb is a hand-held home Laser PhotoTherapy device for the treatment of male and female pattern hair loss as well as all types of hair and scalp problems, such as thin hair, weak hair, grey hair and damaged hair conditions.

In 2002 based on appropriate scientific information and clinical data submitted to Health Canada, and after examination of all data submitted, the Canadian Health Authority certified the Laser Comb as a Class 2 Medical Device (Medical Device License Number 61237)allowing the following therapeutic claims to be made to the Canadian public.

-The HairMax LaserComb increases the strength of scalp hair in men and women.

-The HairMax LaserComb prevents scalp hair loss in men and women.

-The HairMax LaserComb causes regrowth of scalp hair in men and women.

Last year the LaserComb was also cleared to be marketed and sold in Singapore and classified as a Class 2a Medical Device by the Health Science Authority of Singapore since it complies with all safety, quality and performance standards of a medical device ( HSA Center for Medical Device Regulation - Registration number 728-2003-1).

The HairMax LaserComb also received CE certification for conformity with the essential health and safety requirements set out in European Directives and complies with US FDA laser safety standards.

The LaserComb was developed from nearly two decades of clinical research and is manufactured by Lexington International LLC in the USA with patent in the USA and patents pending in over one hundred countries around the world.

DermaLogix Cosmedics was appointed as the exclusive distributor for Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia since July 2003. The results of the Laser Comb in treatment of hair loss, so far have been very promising. Mr. Andy Chan and Mr. Simon Lim, both users in Singapore, was so happy with their results just after 2 months of treatment allowed the company to use his testimonial in their marketing campaign.

According to a paper published in the summer 2003 issue (Volume 5, Number 2) of International Journal of Cosmetic Surgery and Aesthetic Dermatology, a report entitled, "Hair Regrowth and Increased Hair Tensile Strength Using the HairMax LaserComb for Low-Level Laser Therapy," John L. Satino and Michael Markou, D. O., from The Laser Hair and Scalp Clinic (Clearwater, FL) describe the remarkable results patients achieved with the HairMax LaserComb after six months of treatment. Patients used the laser comb at home for 5 to 10 minutes every other day. The comb-like teeth of the device separate the hair, exposing the scalp to the light from nine laser beams. Patients reported no adverse effects.

Thirty-five patients, 28 men and 7 women with androgenetic alopecia, a common form of hair loss, used the comb for six months. The investigators counted the number of hairs in the area of greatest hair loss and also determined the strength of the hair before and after treatment. Hair count increased 93.5% on average, with both men and women showing significant improvement. Hair strength increased 78.9% across all patients.

" Our company is looking forward to work with partners who are in the beauty, hair or healthcare industry to promote this medical device to home users " added Mr. Adrian Lim Manager of DermaLogix Cosmedics Singapore " at present we are working closely with a few well known hair transplant surgeons and beauty specialist and we invite any doctors or salons owners to be our authorized retailers. Those who are interest can visit this link for more information http://www. dermalogix. net/franchise (http://www. dermalogix. net/franchise) "
