Lexi-Comp Supports the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group 2008 Best Practice Awards

Lexi-Comp sponsors awards recognizing excellence in pediatric pharmacy programs.

Hudson OH (PRWEB) September 24, 2008

Lexi-Comp, Inc., a provider of clinical information to the healthcare industry, is proud to be the title sponsor of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group (PPAG) 2008 Best Practice Awards. PPAG, a non-profit professional pharmacy organization representing the interest of pediatric pharmacists and their patients, presents these awards annually to pharmacy programs that advance the mission, vision, and goals of the organization. The submissions are evaluated based upon innovation, creativity, cost effectiveness, improvement in practice, and leadership.

Since 2000, PPAG has recognized over 30 outstanding individuals and pediatric institutions for projects that improve patient care and medication safety. In 2006, Lexi-Comp joined this effort by making a 5-year sponsorship commitment to the organization, strengthening their ability to recognize hospitals and practitioners who serve pediatric patients in outstanding ways.

The 2008 award recipients (http://www. ppag. org/en/art/?550) will be recognized at the 17th Annual Pediatric Pharmacy Conference and Annual Meeting (http://www. ppag. org/am08/) in Baltimore, MD on Friday, October 3, 2008. A summary presentation of their work will be shared with over 300 attendees to provide ideas for improvements in patient care. Lexi-Comp will be participating in this program and the exhibitions October 3 - 5.

Lexi-Comp shares PPAG's mission to promote safe and effective medication use in children through communication, education, and research. Lexi-Comp's Pediatric Dosage Handbook (http://webstore. lexi. com/Store/Pharmacology-Books/Pediatric-Dosage-Handbook-15th-Edition-Taketomo) is an essential tool for many of PPAG's members and supports this effort. This same Pediatric drug information is also accessible in Lexi-Comp's web-based application, Lexi-Comp® ONLINE™.
