External services for pharmaceutical firms have shown consistent growth in recent years with sustained expansion projected as these services continue to proliferate. The global share of biotechnology services spending is in the billions with some estimates reaching as high as $50 billion. The range of high-quality external services available to pharma ranges from supportive IT, to 'omics technologies, medicinal chemistry, toxicology, and clinical services -- creating a services value chain capable of fulfilling a wide reach of organizational needs within the pharmaceutical industry.

With a concentration on discovery, development and pre-clinical services, Cambridge Healthtech Institute and Bio-IT World launch a new co-branded eNewsletter titled Pharma Services News. This publication is produced (biweekly) by John Russell, a member of the founding editorial team of Bio-IT World. The audience target is scientists and researchers, technology professionals and executive managers in leading pharmaceutical companies. Minimum distribution per issue is expected at 40,000 - 50,000.
