The Continua Health Alliance is a non-profit, open industry coalition of healthcare and technology companies joining together in collaboration to improve the quality of personal healthcare.

iFoundry Systems, a design services company, is pleased to announce its membership in the Continua Health Alliance. The Continua Health Alliance is a non-profit, open industry coalition of healthcare and technology companies joining together in collaboration to improve the quality of personal healthcare.
IFoundry has been actively involved in developing wireless solutions for medical devices, specifically IrDA solutions. Through its membership with the Continua Health Alliance, iFoundry will be building both wired and wireless connectivity solutions for medical services, based on the new IEEE 11073-20601 Exchange Protocol for Personal Healthcare Devices.
Ivan Soh, iFoundry's Director of Engineering said "iFoundry has provided IrDA based solutions to a number of our customers in the medical arena over the past 15 years. With the new standardization provided by the IEEE 11073-20601 specification we intend to extend our product portfolio to support both wired and wireless solution, including serial, Bluetooth, USB solutions that will enable our customers to cleanly integrate this new interconnect technology with their medical devices. Membership with the Continua Health Alliance will allow us to be better connected with both technical and commercial elements of this business".
