Florida Background Checks Bill Hits Boiling Point – Online Personals Watch Interviews the Bill’s Sponsor

Florida Background Checks Bill Hits Boiling Point – Online Personals Watch Interviews the Bill’s Sponsor

Online Personals Watch Exclusive Interview - R-Kevin Ambler

(PRWEB) April 26, 2005

R-Kevin Ambler is house sponsor of the Florida background checks legislation. This legislation requires online dating companies to clearly indicate on their sites whether or not they provide background checks on their users. See http://tinyurl. com/abau3 (http://tinyurl. com/abau3) for the amended legislation.

The bill is due to pass into the next committee phase Tuesday 26th April. It will then head to the house and senate for final vote.

Why the need for legislation? – “I have a 15 year old daughter and a 17 year old son who live on the internet. It’s their tool for communicating. Background checks sounded like a good idea for protecting their interests in the future. Many online daters have a false sense of security. Clear disclosure is required in this case, along with the meaning of 'background checks' and limitations. I want my daughter to know, and have the ability to identify felons in the future. As a parent it's incumbent of me to protect my kids future. They are the most internet savvy generation yet...and the most likely to drop their guard.”

What is the legislations likelihood of success? – “The first committees have processed it after an excellent vetting of the issues. It was debated twice for over an hour in the house. We are becoming alarmed about the number of predators and felons so anything we can do to improve the odds and safety is a good thing, a step forward, so I have a very positive outlook on this legislation. It was very carefully tailored to be minimally intrusive to the business model but offers a fair level of protection.”

How about married people? – “We’re not legislating on marriage disclosure. We’d be getting into morality issues.”

What are the next steps for the legislation? – “There’s one more committee in the house and senate. It then goes to full votes in the senate and house and then the governor has to sign it.”

What are the implications for other online services? – “ISP's are excluded from liability…background checks have nothing to do with the carriers of online dating sites. The employment area is also ripe for discussion i. e. monster. com should indicate if applicant background checks have been done. I don't see anything beyond services effecting individuals safety as possibilities for future legislation. Sites that are involved in financial deals could also choose to do background checks. I could foresee them being offered in environments such as eBay. But, this area does not serve the same compelling safety interests for legislation. I don't have to meet people from eBay…but a background check would have some bearing on whether I trust them.”

The full interview appears at www. onlinepersonalswatch. com

Mark Brooks: The online personals industry is unanimously against the legislation but not necessarily against background checks. See “Online Dating Sites Quarrel Over Background Checks” - http://tinyurl. com/d24pk (http://tinyurl. com/d24pk).

True. com is the first and only online dating site to offer background checks. It recently hired hired a well-connected lobbyist and ex-Bush aide from Tampa — former Secretary of the Department of Management Services Cynthia Henderson — to push the background checks measure.

Remedi SeniorCare’s Larry Kelley to Educate Virginia Long-Term Care Community on Pharmacy Regulatory Changes

Remedi SeniorCare’s Larry Kelley to Educate Virginia Long-Term Care Community on Pharmacy Regulatory Changes

Remedi SeniorCare representative, Larry Kelley, will present attendees at the Virginia Health Care Association (VHCA) Pharmacy Update important information about regulatory changes impacting Virginia nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) January 12, 2010

A Remedi SeniorCare (http://www. remedirx. com) long-term care pharmacy representative will provide in-depth information about important regulatory changes impacting Virginia nursing homes and assisted living facilities at the Virginia Health Care Association (VHCA) Pharmacy Update being held today in Richmond, Va.

Larry Kelley, R. Ph., senior relationship manager for Remedi and an experienced long-term care pharmacist, will update attendees on key changes to the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) policies regarding the prescribing, delivery and handling of Schedule II controlled substances (CII). Kelley’s presentation will cover the complete list of essential information and processes, delivered as step-by-step checklists for administrators and nurses.

“There continue to be changes in how the DEA is enforcing the handling of controlled substances in long-term care,” says Kelley. “This update will help members of Virginia’s long-term care community fully understand what everyone in the process — prescribers, pharmacies and nurses — have to do to remain compliant with DEA regulations.”

Kelley presents alongside two fellow pharmacists — Hill Hopper, R. Ph., of Omnicare Inc., and Jeff Schneider, R. Ph., of Legacy Consultant Pharmacy — to give attendees a full picture of the numerous changes going into effect this month for long-term care facilities in Virginia. The pharmacists, who collaborate frequently on educational programs for the long-term care community, will also discuss recent changes to regulations regarding STAT boxes and floor stocks of over-the-counter medications in facilities.

A 39-year veteran of long-term care pharmacy, Kelley stays actively involved in state trade associations and works closely with state Boards of Pharmacy and legislative bodies to lobby for positive change for long-term care. His regular participation in events such as the VHCA Pharmacy Update exemplifies Remedi’s commitment to the long-term care community.

“Some long-term care pharmacies have no involvement in their industry outside of being a vendor to their customers,” says Kelley. “From its inception, all the way back to its early roots, Remedi has always been deeply involved, not just as a vendor but in all areas of long-term care to make customers successful. We actively lend our voice and expertise to contribute to the success of our entire industry.”

About Remedi SeniorCare

LEADING ELECTRONIC HEALTHCARE TRANSACTION COMPANIES LAUNCH COOPERATIVE EXCHANGE™ TO SERVE PAYERS

LEADING ELECTRONIC HEALTHCARE TRANSACTION COMPANIES LAUNCH COOPERATIVE EXCHANGE™ TO SERVE PAYERS

The nation’s leading electronic healthcare transaction companies today announced the creation of a not-for-profit organization, the Cooperative Exchange™ Association (www. cooperativeexchange. org), which will expand the delivery of HIPAA-defined transactions to the nation’s healthcare payers.

(PRWEB) October 13, 2002

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LEADING ELECTRONIC HEALTHCARE TRANSACTION COMPANIES LAUNCH COOPERATIVE EXCHANGE™ TO SERVE PAYERS

Teterboro, NJ – October 8, 2002 – The nation’s leading electronic healthcare transaction companies today announced the creation of a not-for-profit organization, the Cooperative Exchange™ Association(www. cooperativeexchange. org), which will expand the delivery of HIPAA-defined transactions to the nation’s healthcare payers. Founding members include ProxyMed, Inc. (Nasdaq: PILL), MedUnite Inc., THIN, Inc., and ENS-Electronic Network Systems, Inc., and represent an estimated collective annual volume of approximately 750 million healthcare transactions from physicians and hospitals throughout the country.

“Through shared network access and member connectivity, the Cooperative Exchange answers the needs of payers – large and small – for increased volume of HIPAA-defined transactions,” says Laura Carabello, spokesperson. “Our intent is to simplify payer connectivity to a larger universe of providers and to enhance competition for healthcare transaction services in the marketplace.”

The Cooperative Exchange represents a new cooperation in the industry, enabling payers to establish a direct connection with one or more members as a gateway to other member companies of the organization. As payers struggle to meet the HIPAA October 2003 compliance deadline, they will be challenged to meet transaction requirements and can now look to members of the Cooperative Exchange to ease these burdens. Rather than implementing multiple new connections to reach their providers, Cooperative Exchange is intended to assist payers by allowing them to have access with one or more trading partners in the organization, enabling payers to benefit from broad access to a significantly expanded network of providers.

“Our members are connected, either directly or indirectly, to one another and can collectively deliver a larger volume of provider transactions to payers than they could as individual companies,” asserts Carabello. “As the organization membership grows and provider transaction volume expands, payers will derive even greater value.”

The Cooperative Exchange will be looking for additional ways to bring more efficiency to the industry and ease the efforts of all players, including payers and providers, to facilitate seamless, optimal information exchange. The Cooperative Exchange will be an important resource for other alliances which are addressing issues that impact the healthcare information technology industry, and looks forward to collaborating with organizations tackling electronic transaction standards, HIPAA regulations and other concerns.

The Association is actively seeking to expand its membership and anticipates the introduction of associate member status for those companies interested in a supportive role. Interested companies should call Laura Carabello, 201.641.1911 x12, visit the Web site www. CooperativeExchange. org or contact any member company of the organization.

###

It is the policy of Cooperative Exchange to comply strictly with the antitrust laws and regulations of the United States applicable to meetings, programs, or activities. Any discussion or conduct in violation of such laws or regulations are contrary to Cooperative Exchange policy and must be avoided.

Third-Party Reproduction Offers Hope and Options for Infertile Couples

Third-Party Reproduction Offers Hope and Options for Infertile Couples

Reproductive medicine expert on benefits of egg donation, sperm donation and surrogacy.

Trumbull, CT (PRWEB) February 28, 2008

For the one in eight couples in the U. S. who struggle with infertility, the growing list of options that can help them conceive and carry a baby to term is welcome news. While the majority of infertile couples find success in such "first-line" treatments as drug therapy or surgery, tens of thousands of couples each year require more intensive interventions, such as third-party reproduction procedures.

"Third-party reproduction is an umbrella term which covers oocyte, or egg, donation, sperm donation, and both traditional and gestational surrogacy," explains Dr. Andrew Levi, MD, FACOG, a board certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, and founder and medical director of Park Avenue Fertility and Reproductive Medicine. "These are very exciting options for couples who are unable to conceive or carry a child to term," he adds. "However, because this is the area of reproductive medicine where a person from outside the couple's relationship comes into play, third-party reproduction procedures require an additional level of care and management."

When to consider third-party reproduction

"It's important for couples struggling with infertility issues to remember that the great majority of these problems can be solved with medications or surgical procedures, or a combination of the two," Dr. Levi points out. In general, he suggests considering third-party reproductive procedures in the following circumstances:

Egg Donation is often a consideration for women whose own eggs are no longer viable due to age, genetic defects, disease or treatment with chemotherapy and/or radiation. Because the eggs generally come from young, healthy donors, pregnancy rates tend to be quite high.

Sperm Donation is usually considered when a man's sperm count is too low to fertilize an egg. However, numerous lifestyle changes, and even new in vitro fertilization techniques, may be instituted first in an attempt to overcome a low sperm count.

Gestational surrogacy is an option for a couple whose eggs and sperm are viable, but the woman's reproductive system is unable to support a pregnancy to term. This may be caused by hormonal deficiencies, structural defects of the uterus, or for other physiological reasons etc. The couple's eggs and sperm are joined in vitro outside the body and the fertilized eggs (embryos) are transferred to the surrogate's womb. Sometimes, the gestational surrogate is a trusted friend or family member of the couple.

Traditional surrogacy is usually selected when the woman is unable to conceive and sustain a pregnancy, again due to age, genetic defects, disease or prior medical treatments. The man's sperm is used to fertilize the surrogate's eggs in vitro (outside the body), after which the embryos are transferred to the surrogate's uterus to achieve a successful pregnancy.

What to do when considering third-party reproduction

"When a couple decides that third-party reproductive options may be right for their situation, a host of questions and issues will likely arise and need to be addressed," Dr. Levi notes. For example, couples considering egg or sperm donation may question how to select a donor, or how the donor will be screened. The couple contemplating surrogacy might weigh the options of traditional versus gestational, or wonder about the nine-month process from conception to birth.

"For couples who believe third-party reproduction is a good option for them, the most important step is to consult with a board certified reproductive medicine specialist who is experienced and well-versed in these techniques," Dr. Levi says. "Just as importantly, couples should have a high 'comfort level' with their doctor's management of the process," Dr. Levi adds. That's because third-party reproductive procedures involve forging a trust between the couple and an outside volunteer, which is easier once the couple establishes a good working rapport with their practitioner. At Park Avenue Fertility, for example, couples are led step-by-step through the process, with Dr. Levi and his staff handling much of the contractual and insurance paperwork and communications while keeping couples involved and informed at each stage of the procedure.

"Third-party reproduction is an exciting option for couples facing certain infertility issues, and it provides an opportunity for practitioners and their patients to work even more closely toward the ultimate goal of a successful, healthy pregnancy," Dr. Levi concludes.

Health World Web Introduces Personalized Recommendation Engine

Health World Web Introduces Personalized Recommendation Engine

HealthWorldWeb. com is now using its Personalized Recommendation Engine ("PRE") to further enhance delivery of health-related content to its users. The PRE technology will complement the current tools available on the site - the social graph, the forums, the mini-blogs, the communities, directories and ratings and intelligently mine the user-generated data.

Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) August 22, 2008

Only a little more than a year after its official launch, Health World Web announces improvements on its site (http://www. healthworldweb. com/ (http://www. healthworldweb. com/)) with the launch of its Personalized Recommendation Engine.

"We are very excited with the addition of the PRE on the site," Asya Kogan, co-founder of the HealthWorldWeb. com site and vice president for scientific affairs, says. "The PRE will tailor-fit what comes into the users' sphere, making sure that he or she finds valuable information that should interest him or her, without going through a lot of irrelevant content," Dr. Kogan adds.

"This would make recommendations more apt and social connections far easier to find, establish and develop," Matthew Holt, co-founder of Health 2.0 LLC, a noted expert on the health-related trends and technologies, and an advisor for HealthWorldWeb. com, explains.

HealthWorldWeb. com currently features information about physicians, dentist, chiropractors and other healthcare professionals aimed at helping consumers make educated and informed decisions backed by recommendations by a related onsite community. The site combines easily-accessible profiles for more than 1.5 million healthcare professionals and the power of social networking and personal recommendations from ordinary people to assist consumers in their healthcare-related decisions.

"Think of it as Facebook for health-related concerns," Daniel Kogan, founder and CEO of HealthWorldWeb. com says. He relates that the level of interaction, information and support on the site "far exceeds expectations." "I am astonished that people are finding emotional and social support for health problems and conditions on the site, much like a ready support group. Even for embarrassing conditions, there is always someone who is willing to reach out and provide tips, advice or just share experiences."

Dr. Asya Kogan comments that their vision for the site is to "offer the best tools available in the field of patient-to-patient knowledge transfer." She adds, "We believe that the local community knows who provides the best service or what the best alternatives are. We've engineered HealthWorldWeb. com as one site that allows that free community-based sharing of information. And we're happy by what we're seeing on the site."

The social connections developed and fostered on the site, the smart search, and the information aggregation services helps HealthWorldWeb. com redefine traditional user-generated content based on experiences, making it easier to broaden the scope of patient-community interactions.

Organic Food, Do You Eat It?

Organic Food, Do You Eat It?

Commercialisation of the human food chain is allowing unwanted chemicals to be eaten. Modern fruit and vegetables do not contain as much of the vitamins and trace elements as in our grandparents day. Organic growing of your own fruit and vegetables is the only sure way to get the best and not the worst in your food. It's easy to do, it's good for you and it's fun!

(PRWEB) April 29, 2007

Do you eat organic food? Do you actually know what you are eating? Or, do you only think you know? It may look like a carrot but is that all it is? Do you know what has been sprayed onto and absorbed by the leaves? Which chemicals have been mixed into the soil and taken up by the roots?

Herbicides against weeds, pesticides against insects, fast-acting enzymes to promote growth; all are used regularly in food growing. Ultimately, tiny quantities end up in the food we eat. But our bodies do not need pesticides etc to help it function – quite the reverse! Hence the ever-increasing negative reactions in people; respiratory and allergy problems are all very much on the increase.

So how can you be sure that what you and your family eat is all you want to eat? The easiest way is to control how the plants you eat are grown – Grow Your Own (G. Y.O.

Growing healthy, organic fruit and vegetables is not difficult. It doesn’t need a lot of space and is really good fun. The latest research is showing that modern fresh food has less than 50% of the vitamins and trace elements than the same fruit and vegetables grown by our grandfathers. These are just the things we DO need. Organic food will give you the added bonuses of real freshness (not the 3+ days-old "freshness" of the supermarkets) and added flavour,

If you do nothing more than plant a couple of pots of herbs by the kitchen door, do it today. Join a growing number (forgive the pun) of discerning people now growing their own truly fresh food.

Americas New Breed of Chiropractors Using Technology based on NASA Investigation: Engineers first to report the result of anti-gravity and its relation to Spinal Decompression

Americas New Breed of Chiropractors Using Technology based on NASA Investigation: Engineers first to report the result of anti-gravity and its relation to Spinal Decompression.

How are today’s generation of Chiropractors having such amazing results with disc compression? NASA reports relation of anti-gravity and spinal decompression on vertebral disc. Virtually eliminates need for invasive disc surgeries.

New York, NY (PRWEB) January 5, 2006

How are today’s generation of Chiropractors having such amazing results with disc compression?

There is a street in New York City, like many streets in and around the Greenwich Village area that thousands of people walk down everyday. They pass the same buildings, offices and markets. Bustling to and from work, to the market, or to have lunch, day after day after day. Never hearing above the city noise, the lion’s roar that is coming from the same chiropractic office they pass everyday. But for people all over New York suffering from a fairly common, yet completely painful, and possibly debilitating spinal malady called Disc Compression, they can hear the lion’s roar load and clear.

Hundreds of thousands of Americans suffer everyday with Disc Compression or Herniated Discs. The loss of lifestyle created by this spinal infliction can be anything from day-to-day pain, to a complete inability to work and prosper. Yet for the most part, modern medicine has had to turn to surgery to try to contend with it.

However, the chiropractic office of Downing Chiropractic and Wellness Center and Dr. Steven Shoshany, on that street in New York, is having results just short of miraculous.

“I was scheduled for back surgery due to my disc problem and severe sciatic pain, my daughter suggested I try something like chiropractic before I got permanent surgery,” said Sahadai Persaud, one of Dr. Shoshany’s patients. “I cancelled the surgery which was

Scheduled for two weeks after my first visit with Dr. Shoshany, and three months into [Dr. Shoshany’s] care, the quality of my life has been greatly enhanced.”

“No more pain, no more sciatica or muscle weakness, and I can sleep at night,” he added. After six years of suffering and only a few months into his care, Mr. Persaud is now looking forward to getting back to work.

Shoshany is having tremendous results with his non - surgical methods and people are coming from all over the New York area for his treatment. He represents what is good in American health professionals, and was recently accepted for membership by the Internet’s most exclusive chiropractor directory, www. therightchiropractor. com. He does all that he can for the sake of helping his patients. “My insurance did not cover any care, so he made me a payment plan that was affordable and that I was able to work with. God bless Dr Shoshany,” concluded Mr. Persaud.

Downing Chiropractic and Wellness Center has adjusted to the constant flow of new patients and has recently gone through some expansion to make room. “Back pain is the number one reason people miss work, and costs the economy billions of dollars in lost

Wages,” said Shoshany. “I enjoy getting patients back to work, returning them to their lives and helping them become more productive without drugs or sometimes unnecessary surgery. There is a time and place for spinal surgery and disc repair but most of the time a conservative approach can drastically reduce pain and improve the quality of the patients’ life.” Dr. Shoshany continued, “Spinal decompression has been proven to be a successful treatment for herniated disc and sciatica problems.”

Any questions about any chiropractic issue or an impending surgery, please call 212-645-8151.

Dr. Steven Shoshany has been practicing in the New York area for ten years. His web address is www. drshoshany. com.

New Numbers from FDA Freedom of Information Show How Dangerous the Fluoroquinolone aka Quinolone Antibiotics Can Be

New Numbers from FDA Freedom of Information Show How Dangerous the Fluoroquinolone aka Quinolone Antibiotics Can Be

The FDA and pharmaceutical companies have with held valuable information from the medical community and general public regarding the Fluoroquinolone aka Quinolone antibiotcs. The adverse drug reactions that are occurring could have been prevented had the FDA and pharmaceutical companies revealed the serious reactions which are occurring. People have their lives destroyed by these antibiotics. These antibiotics are handed out like candy. They were intended as a LAST-line of defense against infections, but, they are used as a FIRST-line of defense antibiotic. These antibiotics are also used for cancer treatment. The FDA is not doing their job in protecting the consumer. However, Europe knows all about the problems with the Fluoroquinolone aka Quinolone antibiotics.

(PRWEB) July 19, 2005

Now that there has been national attention regarding Vioxx, Celebrex and Bextra, Redux, Phen-Fen, Viagra and Cialis, when will the consumer and medical community be advised of the devastating, physical, psychological and even death from the Fluoroquinolone antibiotics?

Countless lives have been destroyed and yet the FDA and pharmaceutical companies who make these antibiotics do NOTHING or just turn their head away from the problems. From the FDA Freedom of Information (if one wants a more detailed count, it costs lots of money) here are some startling numbers from their reports from November 1, 1997 to present.

Cipro -

Total Reactions=27,893

Total Deaths Outcomes by Case:624

Total Individual Safety Reports:6,292

Levaquin -

Total Reactions=28,061

Total Death Outcomes by Case:628

Total Individual Safety Reports:7,118

Floxin –

Total Reactions=11,000

Total Death Outcomes by Case:249

Total Individual Safety Reports:2,478

Tequin –

Total Reactions = 12,181

Total Death Outcomes by Case:151

Total Individual Safety Reports:4,180

Avelox –

Total Reactions=19,454

Total Deaths by Case:199

Total Individual Safety Reports:5,165

Trovan –

Total Reactions=24,328

Total Deaths by Case:239

Total Individual Safety Reports:5,081

**Trovan is limited use – used in nursing homes and hospitals. Was withdrawn from the retail market**

These numbers are about one percent of what is reported, as quoted by personnel at the FDA. Not everyone files a MedWatch report or even knows how to go about filing one.

How can this be ignored? The deaths alone are greater than any other drug which has been either withdrawn or public awareness was finally given to the consumer and medical community.

Fluoroquinolone aka Quinolone antibiotics adverse drug reactions have been known by the pharmaceutical companies and FDA for years. The serious adverse drug reactions have not been made known to physicians and patients. The pharmaceutical companies market their drug in a reckless manner. The FDA does nothing. These antibiotics were to be used as a LAST-line of defense instead of a FIRST-line of defense which is happening now. They are being handed out like candy. Or worse yet, these drugs are used as the standard protocol in operating rooms across the country, so, a person has no idea why they have: Cardiovascular damage, peripheral neuropathy, cns damage, tendon and muscle damage including tynosynovitis, tendonosis, tendonitis, atrophy, joint and bone damage, vision problems, hearing loss, liver damage, kidney damage, cancer, brain toxicity, toxic psychosis, and death. just to name a few. More disturbing is the adverse drug reactions listed can be long lasting or permanent (which the drug companies and FDA use the word “prolonged”). Also to mention is that the adverse drug reaction can happen during and AFTER therapy of a Fluoroquinolone antibiotic:

Because the FDA and pharmaceutical companies failed to warn of these serious adverse drug reactions when they first learned of them years ago, as required by law, these companies and FDA have evaded litigation by dodging under the statute of limitations. With these actions, the FDA and pharmaceutical companies have committed fraud, depraved indifference and a number of other violations of the law. This behavior must be addressed and justice served.

The FDA and pharmaceutical companies should be held liable for the disabilities, loss of income and medical bills attributed to the dangerous adverse drug reactions of this class of antibiotic drugs. The FDA and pharmaceutical companies have long been aware of these issues and continually do nothing about it. By law, if the pharmaceutical companies know their products have a huge safety issue, as is here, they are required to notify the medical community and general public through amended product labeling, Dear Doctor letters and advertisements in clinical and research journals, publications and other media sources.

The Government needs to fully investigate this issue and misconduct of the FDA and pharmaceutical companies. The Government needs to implement a procedure for the victims of this misconduct of the FDA and pharmaceutical companies and to be compensated for the damages they have suffered – not withstanding existing statutes of limitations.

What logical explanation can the FDA and pharmaceutical companies have as to why there is a lack of communication existing between the medical communities and general public in America, whereas in Europe, the facts that have been listed, Dear Doctor letters have been written, etc., have been known to Europeans for years!! AND both the consumer and medical communities have this knowledge.

But the $64.00 dollar question is WILL the Government do something? Anything? One has to remember the corruption that has plagued the AmericanÂ’s for years. One must remember too that the head of the FDA prior to Mark McClellan was a Veterinarian!! Maybe we all should have been born an animal. At least the Veterinarians were informed by mail by the pharmaceutical company and FDA..

This has to stop. NOW!

21 Day Body Makeover Launches Redesigned Corporate Website to Help People Lose Weight and Feel Great

21 Day Body Makeover Launches Redesigned Corporate Website to Help People Lose Weight and Feel Great

George DeJohn, creator of the 21 Day Body Makeover Program, announces the redesign of 21daybodymakeover. com, the only online distributor of professional supplement and nutraceutical programs developed by George, Dr Webster and Jill Lane.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 20, 2009

George DeJohn, creator of the 21 Day Body Makeover Program, is proud to announce the redesign of 21DayBodyMakeover. com (http://21daybodymakeover. com/), the only online distributor of professional supplement and nutraceutical programs developed by George, Dr Webster and Jill Lane.

The 21 Day Body Makeover is better than Oprah's 21 day cleanse for several reasons, including the 21 day support provided by Dr. Webster as needed, the 21 Day Body Makeover eating protocol and the professional grade supplements 21 Day provides. This 21 day program cannot be matched in value.

21 Day Body Makeover is a program that cleanses the entire body with the aid of a well-balanced eating protocol accompanied by natural supplements.

George DeJohn takes his experience as a health and fitness adviser to the stars and provides it to anyone who wants to change the way they feel, look and taste food with the 21 Day Body Makeover program. DeJohn has worked with clients as well known as basketball all-star Dennis Rodman, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, CEO of Dell Michael Dell and several starters of the Dallas Stars NHL franchise. Brendon Morrow, Trevor Daley and Daryl Sydor just finished and absolutely loved it!

The purpose of the program, which is anchored by the Full Body Cleanse (http://21daytotalbodycleanse. com/offer/1/), is to literally make over the whole body in three weeks, by helping the body to remove toxins and lose fat. It is based on the principle that the body is always speaking with symptoms. If one doesn't listen to those symptoms, the body will talk louder, in a possibly harsh manner. Listening to the body means not only following fat loss tips, but taking the correct supplements, the ones that are actually beneficial, eating the right diet, with foods that are high in nutrients, maintaining physical fitness and cleansing all organs and glands.

Some of 21 Day Body Makeover's most successful users (http://21daybodymakeover. com/testimonials) have lost over 100 pounds, and are adamant about feeling healthy, happier, and generally better than they have in 15 years. Products like the Power Cleanse (http://21daybodymakeover. com/product-reviews/power-cleanse. html) are designed to detoxify the body, removing the toxins that build up in the system over a lifetime of poor nutrition. Thousands of people have used DeJohn's program and most all report not only feeling and looking better, but having lost their cravings for sugar and all bad carbs, with more sustained daily energy and more restful sleep. The 21 Day Body Makeover is formulated to reduce or eliminate cravings for unhealthy foods, end the daily lows in energy, balance hormones, cleanse organs and glands, provide stress relief and generally improve mood.

The 21 Day Body Makeover is NSF-approved. It is one of the only supplement companies whose products are made in compliance with FDA guidelines in a state-of-the-art facility to ensure safety and cleanliness.

Some of the features of the newly redesigned website include:

A more user-friendly interface to make it easier to find the needed information about each program with ease  New, easier process for ordering the most popular products  A special offer for those ordering the 21 Day Full Body Cleanse - A free copy of George's eBook - Three Minutes to a Strong Mind and a Fit Body  A complete facelift, making 21DayBodyMakeover. com the newest, hottest brand to hit the market!

The 21 Day Body Makeover - The full body program for a cleaner, healthier, better self.

Hummingbird Coaching Partners with Leeza’s Place to Help Caregivers “Take Your Oxygen First”

Hummingbird Coaching Partners with Leeza’s Place to Help Caregivers “Take Your Oxygen First”

Online Coaching Provides Caregiving Needed Resources and Coping Strategies

Cincinnati (PRWEB) May 21, 2009

Hummingbird Coaching Services and Leeza’s Place have teamed to provide online coaching (http://www. hummingbirdcoaching. com/default. aspx? tabid=7197) for caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s disease, offering needed resources and coping strategies.

Working on concepts in “Take Your Oxygen First: Protecting Your Health and Happiness While Caring for a Loved One with Memory Loss,” a new book by entertainment broadcaster and Alzheimer’s advocate Leeza Gibbons, Hummingbird’s coaches help caregivers understand the need to first care for themselves as they care for their loved ones.

At no cost, caregivers can log onto the book’s website, www. takeyouroxygenfirst. com, to try out the benefits of coaching for 30 days. They will have unlimited access to a personal coach, who helps them develop strategies to find more personal time and energy.

“There are 50 million people caring for someone with an illness or chronic disease,” said Gibbons in a recent television interview on the Today Show. “Our mantra at Leeza’s Place is that as a caregiver, you really have to nourish yourself first. It's imperative that you take your oxygen first. Otherwise, you’ll be so depleted from the frustration, isolation, stress and fear that you'll be no good to anyone. You realize you can’t do it alone.”

Gibbons founded the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation, and its signature program, Leeza’s Place, to provide caregiver advocacy and support following her mother Jean’s diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.

"I wish I could have had a coach when my grandmother and mother were disappearing from Alzheimer's disease. It was death in slow motion and our entire family began to unravel. A coach who understands caregiving is a powerful way to make sense of the chaos and regain some control over a situation that is so overwhelming."

“Take Your Oxygen First” informs and inspires caregivers to take care of themselves so they might meet the challenges of giving care to another. Gibbons and her family members cared for her mother for more than a decade, and their heartfelt, candid accounts are combined with current medical, nutritional, psychological and spiritual information and advice for caregivers.

Caregivers can receive coaching through a number of communications channels, such as telephone, instant messaging, e-mail and text messaging, as well as mobile devices. The convenience and frequency of communication between coaches and caregivers helps build rapport and trust, leading to lasting behavior change.

Caregivers access www. takeyouroxygenfirst. com through their personal password-protected Member Page and can ask questions or chronicle their experiences in an online journal. They also have access to educational materials and community forums to share ideas, challenges, and support with other caregivers.

Hummingbird Coaching Services has provided one-on-one health coaching since 1997. Their proprietary coaching model (http://www. hummingbirdcoaching. com/default. aspx? tabid=7203) and online delivery platform is used by major employers, health plans and pharmaceutical companies to drive behavior change among employees and patients; www. hummingbirdcoaching. com. Data Collection Company Integrates Lean Philosophy

Data Collection Company Integrates Lean Philosophy

Lean philosophies are in the past originally intended for eliminating waste in manufacturing companies. Now, the first of it's kind in the country, a service provider company integrates the management practice and is seeing results.

PORTLAND, OR (PRWEB) July 22, 2006

Research Data Design, Inc. (RDD), a leading market research company specializing in quantitative and qualitative data collection, has adopted a new management practice that has been used in decades past by manufacturing companies. The Japanese based philosophy known as ‘Lean’ is currently making the transition from manufacturing companies to service providers. RDD is the first company of its kind to adopt Lean into the common workplace.

First developed by Toyota manufacturing in the 1960s and defined by MIT in the 1980s, Lean philosophies have helped production companies streamline their business and product output by means of identifying and eliminating waste at the material level. Research Data Design has taken the same philosophy and implemented it into its customer service projects by means of identifying the company’s core values, defining key business metrics, outlining standard work and creating systems of visual communication. All of these things are designed to keep waste out of the business process and to help employees on opportunities for efficiency. RDD is one of the first companies in the country to engage the philosophy of Lean in a company outside of manufacturing.

“The fact is that any company can use Lean to their advantage. With these tools, we’ve been able to watch our company production rise on a daily basis. It’s really an exciting time for us,” said CEO John Stepleton.

The introduction to Lean started with the Portland chapter of Entrepreneur’s Organization (www. eonetwork. org), where CEO John Stepleton first learned about Lean. From there other participants of the EO have been working closely with RDD about his experience and success in turning businesses around using Lean philosophies.

During the implementation of Lean, RDD redefined the processes that brought direct value to the clients and have made many small changes that have produced big results. Some key points have been: identifying the company’s core values, defining key business metrics, outlining standard work and creating systems of visual communication. All of these things are designed to keep waste out of the business process and to help employees on opportunities for efficiency

After past growth that earned RDD a place on the 500 Fastest Growing Companies list in 1999, at #152, then 2000 at #252, and #462 in 2001, Stepleton has been looking for a means to keep the company running effectively.

“Since the slowing pace of the company, Lean is the next step in moving things forward again and giving RDD a goal that we’ve only dreamed of before,” said Stepleton.

RDD is taking the initiative to be a leader in the implementation of Lean outside the manufacturing arena, and is striving for the Shingo Prize in the future. Considered the Nobel Prize of manufacturing; the Shingo Prize establishes the standard for world-class manufacturing excellence. RDD will petition the NW Shingo Prize committee to enter as a new category and eventually become a case study for the Shingo Prize Organization.

ABOUT RDD - Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, RDD delivers data collection services for business, consumer, and multilingual studies to clients in a variety of industry segments, including high tech, food and beverage, finance, insurance, automotive, healthcare, utilities, media, and entertainment. Founded in 1994, the company earned a space on Inc Magazine's 500 Fastest Growing Private Companies list three years running. RDD currently staffs more than 400 highly trained individuals, including interviewers, site and field managers, data analysts, and account managers. RDD owns and operates interviewing centers in Las Cruces, New Mexico; Portland, Oregon; Missoula, Montana; and a new facility in Fort Collins, Colorado.

A "Return to Origin" for Kangen Water® Distributors

A "Return to Origin" for Kangen Water® Distributors

"Kangen" means "return to origin" in Japanese, so it was fitting that the U. S. distributors should have the opportunity to see where the company began. Read more to discover the roots of Enagic and Kangen Water.

Torrance, CA (PRWEB) April 15, 2010

In March of 2010, Enagic hosted over 20 of its top distributors on an all-expense paid visit to beautiful Okinawa, Japan. The leaders were flown from all parts of the United States to Okinawa where they toured the birthplace of Enagic and learned about the fundamental roots of the firm. Enagic is the producer of the highest-quality water ionizers on the market, which create pure, alkaline Kangen Water®. "Kangen" means "return to origin" in Japanese, so it was fitting that the U. S. distributors should have the opportunity to see where the company began.

Okinawa is where the founder, Mr. Hironari Ohshiro, was first inspired to expand Enagic beyond the confines of his own small, home island. Having captured the ionizer market aggressively in the 1970's, Mr. Ohshiro first ventured to Tokyo and Osaka, bringing Kangen Water® to the mainland of Japan. In only a few years, hundreds of thousands of households, restaurants, clinics and even hospitals embraced the healthy benefits of alkaline water.

Mr. Ohshiro's pioneering vision was instrumental in bringing Kangen Water® to the United States, beginning with Los Angeles, California where he recognized and capitalized on the strong health culture. The success of his California office led to satellite offices in NY, Chicago, Honolulu and Dallas. Canada, Taiwan and Hong Kong also revealed the intense demand for Kangen Water®. In due time, the European Union market was opened through its Düsseldorf office and the Mexico market was opened through the Monterrey office. In 2010, the firm plans expansion in Australia, the Philippines and Italy.

To properly understand the future of Enagic, it was critical that the leading distributors understand the deep historical impact Mr. Ohshiro's journey has provided. Once on the shores of Okinawa, they were invited to attend special cultural events, see the original home that the founder grew up in, and tour the surrounding countryside.

The leaders also traveled to Osaka where they were given private access to the Enagic factory and witnessed the highest quality standards exhibited on a daily basis. A cultural tour of traditional Kyoto followed, and the whirlwind trip concluded in Tokyo.

As the founder explained, "To know my own island is to know why we perform the mission we perform. The essential aspect of Enagic is one of providing for others. Whether we provide good Kangen Water® for their health, a tremendous business opportunity to alleviate their worries amidst this troubled economy, or even the peace of mind that comes with truly actualizing their true health, we are carrying out our mission."

Random House Audio Adds Beacon Street Girls to Listening Library

Random House Audio Adds Beacon Street Girls to Listening Library

B*tween Productions, home of the Beacon Street Girls®, today announced that Random House Audio's Listening Library has secured the audio rights to the 22 books in the tween phenomenon, the Beacon Street Girls, and has released the first three new audiobooks for the series.

Lexington, MA (PRWEB) August 18, 2008

B*tween Productions, home of the Beacon Street Girls®, today announced that Random House Audio's Listening Library has secured the audio rights to the 22 books in the tween phenomenon, the Beacon Street Girls, and has released the first three new audiobooks for the series. This announcement complements B*tween's distribution partnership with Simon & Schuster's tween imprint, Aladdin M! X (announced December 2007). B*tween's goal is to empower preteen girls through positive media and strong role models. The company works with experts to incorporate the latest childhood development research into its award-winning Beacon Street Girls book series and Web site.

"By adding audiobooks to our media mix we reach even more girls who are on 'the go' and who appreciate great storytelling," said Addie Swartz, chief executive officer, B*tween Productions. "Audiobooks are a great option for today's girl and for families who listen to books in the car."

"Random House actively sought the rights to the Beacon Street Girls," said Amanda D'Acierno, publisher, Listening Library. "We were attracted by a number of factors - the success of the series to-date, especially taking into account that this was being distributed by an independent publisher at the time, the legions of online 'super-fans' around the world and their receptivity to the positive messages being communicated in the books and online. This is a powerful integrated brand, poised to become a major contender in the tween market, but it also has its heart in the right place."

The Beacon Street Girls are designed to address issues around friendship and growing up, and portray socially responsible values in an exciting and fun contemporary setting. The characters were created so that the widest array of girls possible would be able to identify with them, their interests, strengths and challenges. The Beacon Street Girls was also one of the first series for tweens to include a main character with dyslexia, Maeve Kaplan-Taylor. Maeve plays an important role in helping girls who have difficulty in school see themselves as a Beacon Street Girl.

The release of first BSG audiobooks, performed with multiple cast members, coincided with the distribution of six Beacon Street Girls books, from Simon & Schuster. "Worst Enemies/Best Friends" is the first book in the series, "Time's Up" is number 12 and "Katani's Jamaican Holiday" is a Beacon Street Girls Special Adventure. All three are now available in both home and library version packaging. The Listening Library is planning to release three more titles in the fall.

About the Beacon Street Girls

The Beacon Street Girls® brand (BSG) is specifically designed to celebrate the potential in every tween - those girls between the ages of 9 and 13 who are "between toys and boys(TM)." The Beacon Street Girls, whether online at Beacon Street Girls (http://www. BeaconStreetGirls. com) or in the widely popular book series, written under the pen name Annie Bryant, are shaped by leading experts in adolescent development and current research on how to positively impact girls' self-esteem. The Beacon Street Girls offer a fresh, exciting and healthier media alternative to today's MTV-style world. Fans from 174 countries and their parents have embraced the Beacon Street Girls as role models who are "just like me." The Beacon Street Girls world and Club BSG can be found online at http://www. beaconstreetgirls. com (http://www. beaconstreetgirls. com)

B*tween has partnered with leading children's books publisher Simon & Schuster, adding the Beacon Street Girls to their tween imprint Aladdin M! X®. Random House's Listening Library® is distributing audiobooks. More than 580,000 Beacon Street Girls books have been sold to date. Beacon Street Girls books are available wherever books are sold.

Nature Made(R) and First Magazine Kick off February's Heart Health Month with National Dance Contest

Nature Made(R) and First Magazine Kick off February's Heart Health Month with National Dance Contest

Nature Made(R), America's number one-selling vitamin, mineral and supplement brand, in partnership with First magazine, announced today the launch of its "Your Heart: Feel the Beat" National Dance Contest. This nationwide contest encourages Americans to tango their way towards a better heart through dance.

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (PRWEB) January 31, 2008

Starting February 1, people will be able to submit short videos demonstrating their best heart healthy dance moves for a chance to win a variety of prizes, including an opportunity to appear in a Nature Made ad. For each entry submitted by March 15, Nature Made will make a donation to Groove With Me, a New York-based nonprofit organization that teaches leadership, pride and creativity to young girls through dance.

"Numerous studies show that aerobic exercise helps reduce heart disease risk, but as every woman knows, sticking to a routine can be a challenge," says Maggie Jaqua, executive editor, First magazine. "That's why the latest studies showing that a fun activity like dancing can be an effective way to enhance heart health are such welcome news. And when you consider the findings that dancing improves mood, reduces stress and alleviates tiredness, it's easy to see why more women are dancing their way to a healthier mind and body."

According to the American Heart Association (AHA), heart disease is the nation's number one killer, claiming one life every 30 seconds. To reduce the risk, the AHA recommends 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily along with a low-sodium, low-cholesterol diet and staying away from tobacco smoke. Joseph Keenan, M. D., cardiology researcher and professor emeritus, University of Minnesota, says dietary supplements may also be helpful when diet isn't enough.

"Studies show that certain dietary supplements like fish oil, CoQ10 and flaxseed oil can be beneficial to the heart," said Dr. Keenan. "For those trying to maintain healthy cholesterol levels, I often recommend plant sterols and stanols. These plant-derived ingredients have been clinically proven to naturally lower cholesterol and improve heart health. They are present in all fruits and vegetables, but to get enough plant sterols to lower cholesterol you need to eat foods fortified with plant sterols or plant sterol supplements."

For more information on how to enter Nature Made's "Your Heart: Feel the Beat" Dance Contest, pick up a copy of the February 25 issue of First magazine (on newsstands starting February 4), or visit MyFirstForWomen. com starting February 1. Visit NatureMade. com for more heart healthy tips and dietary supplements that can complement a healthful lifestyle.

The Icebox of Atlanta Selected as T-shirt Vendor for 3 Major Divisions of American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life

The Icebox of Atlanta Selected as T-shirt Vendor for 3 Major Divisions of American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life

Atlanta-based promotional products and corporate apparel distributor The Icebox to produce T-shirts for Relay For Life events in Indiana, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Hawaii, and California. Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's largest fundraising event. Relay For Life events across the United States have collected more than $3.5 billion in the fight against cancer since 1985.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 15, 2010

Atlanta-based promotional products and corporate apparel distributor, The Icebox, was recently chosen to produce T-shirts for Relay For Life events in Indiana, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Hawaii, and California.

An approved vendor for the National Relay For Life program since 2008, The Icebox was chosen as T-shirt vendor for 2010 in the Great Lakes Division (Indiana, Michigan), the High Plains Division (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Hawaii), and the California Division. Relay For Life representatives in each of these states will order T-shirts from The Icebox for events across their regions. Participants and their supporters will wear the shirts at over 1,300 events across these 3 divisions in 2010, with the majority of events taking place during spring and early summer. The Icebox will provide approximately 1 million shirts, or about a third of all the shirts across the more than 5,000 Relay for Life events that will take place nationwide.

“Being chosen as a national T-shirt partner for an event of this magnitude is a tremendous honor,” stated Scott Alterman, co-owner of The Icebox. “We are always appreciative of any large T-shirt programs we secure, but it is extra special to work with a cause that is making an impact. The American Cancer Society is the gold standard when it comes to procurement processes and vendor selection. They are true pros.”

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's largest fundraising event. Relay For Life events across the United States have collected more than $3.5 billion in the fight against cancer since 1985, when one surgeon’s personal efforts to raise money to fight cancer by running and walking with friends spawned an ever increasing number of events around the country, and ultimately, around the world. These events now take place in 21 countries. In 2008, over 5,000 Relay For Life events across the United States raised more than $409 million.

The staff at The Icebox will work with Relay For Life captains on order placement, decoration (http://iceboxonline. com/default. aspx? id=95), and fulfillment (http://iceboxonline. com/default. aspx? id=96). The T-shirts are designed to both uplift and unite Relay participants while also promoting the events taking place across the country. Additionally, the design team at The Icebox will create original back-of-the-shirt artwork promoting individual sponsors of the Relay. Captains will collaborate directly with The Icebox staff to revise and approve this custom sponsor art.

Such work is not new to The Icebox, which carries a strong reputation for community service through its Common Threads division. Common Threads (http://iceboxonline. com/default. aspx? id=103), The Icebox’s philanthropic arm, is dedicated to assisting non-profit organizations with their fundraising events and providing community leadership as part of a current trend toward branded philanthropy. Common Threads integrates philanthropy with business at many levels, from an eco-friendly apparel line and co-branded promotional products—which promote the good works of both the charitable organization and supporting businesses—to front line participation by employees of The Icebox in philanthropic events, including Relay For Life. The Icebox had its own participating team in the Atlanta Relay at Oglethorpe University in April of 2008, raising $10,000 for research and other programs for the American Cancer Society. That year, the Atlanta event raised a total of $200,000.

About The Icebox

The Icebox is a full-service, one-stop shop for promotional products and branded apparel. Their capabilities include creative services, garment sourcing, garment and product decoration, and fulfillment programs. In addition to its unique line of promotional products and clothing, The Icebox also offers a complete line of eco-friendly products for environmentally conscious clients. For more information, visit http://www. iceboxonline. com (http://www. iceboxonline. com).

Locally organized "Relay For Life" events take place across the nation on behalf of the American Cancer Society, with more than three million Americans participating annually. The first Relay For Life event was held in Tacoma, Washington in 1986, inspired by the example of surgeon Dr. Gordy Klatt, who in 1985 walked and ran a track for 24 hours as a way to raise money to fight cancer. Whistle-blowing into the Caribbean

Whistle-blowing into the Caribbean

Report it hotline announces today that it has formed a co-marketing agreement with Renaissance & Associates of Trinidad & Tobago.

Great River, NY (PRWEB) May 10, 2006

The Report it/Renaissance partnership brings for the first time to the Caribbean region, a complete solution to meet the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley 301 (Corporate Whistle-blowing) by an independent third party hotline service and employee fraud awareness training.

Stephon Grey CFE, Founder of Renaissance has indicated that the region has become vulnerable to a high level of fraudulent misconduct. With this in mind he believes the partnership produces the right combination to prevent, detect & deter Corporate Fraud through Whistle-blowing, as well as employee fraud awareness training.

Report it will help reduces risk by encouraging and promoting internal communication through safe anonymous channels - online or by telephone. With Report it anonymous reporters can alert upper management/board of directors of perceived problems without fear of retribution or retaliation. Anonymous submissions are escalated directly to authorized designees within the organization. Report it is a powerful tool that will encourage employees to come forward and communicate when they become aware or suspect a potential risk or wrongdoing. Report it will also reduce the likelihood that employees will seek intervention from outsiders - thus providing the company or organization the immediate notification necessary for early detection of risk and liability, said Grey. Grey is confident of the partnership’s success in the Caribbean region.
