In a nationwide study utilizing WebPosition(R) 4 Professional software from WebTrends Inc., the search rankings of orthodontic practices in over 40 primary and secondary geographic markets across the nation were measured on 18 leading search engines. The results show unequivocally that web sites designed by Sesame Communications and Sesame Design as well as those using the Ortho Sesame(TM) online communications solution consistently rank higher in natural search visibility than leading industry competitors and, as a result, are more visible to consumers searching for orthodontic services online.
WebPosition was used to examine the visibility of web sites produced by five companies -- Sesame Communications, TeleVox, Officite, Solutions By Design and PBHS -- analyzing their natural search results on such search engines as A9, Ask Jeeves, Google, MSN, Yahoo!, AltaVista, Lycos and several others for the geographic market areas in which the orthodontic practices are located.
Results indicate that the sites designed by Sesame Communications achieved the highest overall visibility scores resulting in a Visibility Percentage more than 20% higher than its nearest competitor, and many times higher than the overall average.
Sesame web sites were the most visible sites in natural search listings with the highest natural Visibility Percentage representing more top ranked, #1 and more top 3 ranked web sites than any other Web design, production or marketing organization.
Following the trend among search engines to feature local businesses, WebPosition's analysis showed that when searchers used the most popular keywords combined with the location name of the city or town of the health care practice, those web sites optimized by Sesame Communications were in higher search positions that would be seen more often, by more people.
The WebPosition study measured search engine visibility for the most popular keyword search terms as designated by the industry-acclaimed WordTracker keyword research service. Search terms included [orthodontist] [orthodontic], [teeth], [find orthodontist], [family orthodontist], [braces], [invisalign], [smile], and [cosmetic].

Methodology
The study showed the web search engine visibility ranking of orthodontic web sites using the industry-leading search engine optimization solution, WebPosition 4. The data collected reflects SEO and SEM techniques for the top ten keywords used to find orthodontists online as determined by Wordtracker, the leader in search term popularity and keyword research.
"Search Engine Visibility Percentage" reflects a site's prominence within the first three pages of search results for the keywords and search engines examined. Research data for the study was collected on January 2, 2006 to compile the findings.
