Mitretek Systems has entered into an agreement with SCM Alliance, Inc. (SCMA) to improve patient safety through the Risk and Safety Management Alert System (RASMAS) for its member hospitals.
RASMAS is a web-based service that automates the distribution, receipt, and tracking of product alerts and recalls. It provides centralized recall oversight from a management perspective for alerts spanning across all products used in the healthcare environment. To enhance patient safety, Boca Raton Community Hospital, Martin Memorial Healthcare System, and eight of their affiliated cancer and medi-centers will be utilizing RASMAS to ensure that recall management is as streamlined and expedient as possible.
Subscribers report that using RASMAS has resulted, on average, in an 80 percent reduction in alert processing time, as well as a dramatic decrease in the number of days from notification to removal of products from use. Such time-saving efforts will ensure that patients of these two healthcare organizations continue to receive the highest quality of healthcare delivery possible and will safeguard visitors and staff as well.
