IntelliTec Medical Institute Introduces New Programs
On July 6, classes will resume at IntelliTec Medical Institute, and two new programs will be available to area students: Personal Training and Short-Term Massage Therapy.

Even in a down economy, the health and wellness industry is growing – and now one local college can help you establish a career in this burgeoning field.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 10 of the top 20 fastest-growing occupations today are related to healthcare. On July 6, classes will resume at IntelliTec Medical Institute, and two new programs will be available to area students: Personal Training and Short-Term Massage Therapy. Students will be able to acquire certificates or Associate degrees in either program.
The Personal Training program is designed to prepare its students to begin their career as a certified personal trainer. IntelliTec is equipped to give students the hands-on experience they will need to work with and mentor clients in a variety of settings, including health clubs, country clubs, fitness centers, hospitals and rehab facilities, resorts, athletic organizations, and more. The continued growth of health clubs and spas means good opportunities for careers in the health and wellness field according to the 2010 edition of the Occupational Outlook Handbook.
The growth opportunities in the health and wellness field can also apply to graduates of the Short-Term Massage Therapy program, which allows students to become a massage therapist in less than eight months. It introduces students to several massage techniques, methods, standards, business development procedures and more. Completion of this program gives participants the opportunity to become certified through the national certification exam.
“These are exciting fields with the growth potential that fits those of our other existing programs,” said Campus Director Todd Matthews. “Our focus is on placing students into in-demand careers. We’re excited to welcome more students into the programs and help them move on to new career possibilities.”
