Stanford Home for Children announced today the appointment of Keith Diederich to the position of Executive Director.

"The Stanford Home for Children is extremely excited to begin working with Mr. Diederich," said Bill Kelly, President of the Board. "His enthusiasm, dedication, and unparalleled experience will prove to be a huge asset for the Stanford Home, and the Sacramento community."

Diederich comes to Stanford Home with more than 15 years of experience in nonprofit administration and leadership and is in a unique position to move Stanford Home forward to address the needs of kids and families. Until recently, he was the President/Executive Director for Girls and Boys Town of Southern California, where his guidance helped the organization annually serve more than 1,300 youth and families. During his successful tenure, Diederich created a healthy service culture while achieving a 25% revenue growth rate in two years.

Diederich holds a Master of Science Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Nebraska and dual Bachelor of Science Degrees in Economics and Sociology from Wayne State College as well as numerous special licenses and certifications.

Diederich looks forward to serving at-risk youth and their families at Stanford Home and is committed to the organization's family-centered service approach. "As I spoke with people in Sacramento, I realized that Stanford Home is Sacramento's best-kept secret," Diederich says. "By creating alternative solutions to institutional care, this agency is leading the field with successful, long-term solutions for children and families. I look forward to being a part of Stanford Home's mission to improve the health and welfare of local kids and families facing crisis situations."

About Stanford Home for Children

Stanford Home for Children leads our community in providing alternatives to institutional care for youth: the best solution to supporting families in turmoil. Through family centered practices, we connect and strengthen families, so that every child can thrive. For more than 100 years, Stanford Home's mission has been to provide innovative care and support to strengthen children and families so that they may define their own dreams, overcome their challenges, and thrive in the future. The nonprofit organization serves boys and girls of all races, creeds, and economic backgrounds--each with a different but painful set of experiences that have had a negative impact on their schooling, emotional well-being, and their ability to interact with adults and peers. Stanford Home seeks to unite and unify families whenever possible, minimizing the dependence on institutional care that can further traumatize a child facing turmoil.  Stanford Home's vision for the future is to ensure that every youth is safe, healthy, self-sufficient, connected with family, and given the tools they need to develop into contributing members of our community.
