Los Angeles – CHARO Community Development Corporation hosted its Entrepreneur Training Program graduation with keynote speaker Los Angeles City Council member elect Antonio Villaraigosa.
CHARO President & CEO, Cynthia Amador introduced Antonio Villaraigosa and explained that “he is a man with great vision for our community, with the leadership and the courage to move us forward as we work together to re-build the economic fabric of our community.”
Mr. Villaraigosa discussed the importance of the small business owner to economic advancement and development and congratulated them for completing the program. “I would like to congratulate the entrepreneurs graduating tonight for completing this 11-week course which has provided you with the tools you need to succeed.” stated Villaraigosa. “I look forward to visiting your individual businesses soon.”
The CHARO Entrepreneur Training Program is designed for start-ups and established businesses. The class is an intensive 11-week course offered in English and Spanish. CHARO is the only entity in Los Angeles that offers the course in Spanish, on a consistent basis.
The cost to the students is only $150.00. The actual cost of the Entrepreneur Training Program is about $2,000 per entrepreneur; the program is underwritten from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Community services, an SBA Prime Grant, and funding from our Strategic alliance partners such as Wells Fargo Bank, represented by Rene Bizer, Washington Mutual, City National Bank, and Union Bank of California.
