Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) September 23, 2008
Orion Health, a leading provider of clinical workflow and integration technology for the healthcare sector, today made available a case study recounting a best practice in Health Data Integration which explores Orion Health successfully addressing Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) need to integrate all clinical back-end systems in order to implement an electronic medical record (EMR) system provided by Epic.
OHSU needed an integration engine to help migrate, manage and streamline message exchange between 60 departmental interfaces including ADT, Orders, Results and Billing for radiology, laboratory, surgery, pharmacy and cardiology departments. Other criteria were ease of use, a competitive price point and a full-featured solution.
"Rhapsody was the clear choice, having been both top in functionality and price point, while consistently rated as a top solution by KLAS and top marks from other customers," said Tom Drury, manager Healthcare Technical Services at OHSU http://www. ohsu. edu (http://www. ohsu. edu)
"The ancillary systems really did not miss a beat," added Drury. "We really could not afford to not do the integration part well. It was a great team and a great process to work with Orion Health. It was really exciting to see it all come together."
"The Orion Health support team worked closely with the hospital during deployment to optimize and troubleshoot," said Paul Viskovich, President Orion Health North America.
"Key learning's from OHSU's configuration plan and architecture have become best practice standard operating procedure for future Rhapsody deployments. The solution for OHSU is a clear example of Rhapsody providing a secure integration solution with lowest cost of ownership and highest return on investment." http://www. orionhealth. com/rhapsody/ (http://www. orionhealth. com/rhapsody/)
