Dallas, TX (PRWEB) November 13, 2009
AMP Productions has been awarded a $10,000.00 prize in the Texas Women Small Business “Going Green Contest,” announced at the Texas Conference for Women in Houston. Submissions were rated based on creativity, environmental impact, financial impact, employee engagement and customer benefits.
TCW created the contest to recognize Texas-based, women-owned businesses that raise the bar by lowering their companies’ environmental impact. Contest participants submitted a 500-word case study outlining the policies and practices their companies use to lower environmental impact.
“Small businesses have an important impact on our state, creating jobs and fueling Texas’ economic engine,” said Gov. Perry. “This contest provides a wonderful opportunity for these businesses to be leaders in preserving and protecting our state’s environment.”
“We’ve found that green choices aren’t just the ethical choice; they can also be a great business choice,” said Amy Lou Abernethy, President of AMP Productions. “In documenting some of our efforts for this contest, we found that we’ve saved money on utilities by our green efforts.”
