(Vocus) October 6, 2008
Garden Valley, Texas October 6, 2008 -- SeaMobile Enterprises, the premier global provider of communications services to remote locations, announced today that it has donated access to the FoxNews channel via satellite to Mercy Ships onboard the global charity's flagship, the Africa Mercy. The Africa Mercy is the world's largest non-governmental hospital ship currently on a 10-month Field Service in Monrovia, Liberia. SeaMobile's commitment will allow Mercy Ships crew of professional volunteers to have access to FoxNews' award winning coverage of global events.
Don Stephens, founder and president of Mercy Ships said, "We are thrilled that SeaMobile has decided to provide FoxNews to our crew. Their continued commitment to provide outstanding satellite communications is a key component to the success we are able to achieve in serving the people of West Africa. This news service donation is a wonderful addition for our Crew of the Africa Mercy who will be onboard for over 10 months each year. The FoxNews coverage of events will allow our volunteer crew to stay in touch with the world while serving the needs of a portion of its population. Our crew is made up of volunteers from over 35 different nations and the opportunity to keep them up to date with current events while they serve the forgotten poor is a great morale boost to our effort. We are honored that SeaMobile has given this gift to our organization and it will help us to attract the talent of world class medical care."
"We are very pleased to support the Mercy Ships and the extraordinary people who volunteer their time to help others," said Dave Kagan, CEO of SeaMobile, Inc. "Mercy Ships is a long-time customer for our VSAT satellite service and providing FoxNews to the volunteer crew is a great way to show our appreciation for their loyalty and the work they do in the world."
