NorthCest Medical Center Selects Healthcare Management Systems

Nashville, Tenn. (PRWEB) October 21, 2005

Healthcare Management Systems, Inc.™ (HMS) announced today that they have been selected by Springfield, TN-based NorthCrest Medical Center to supply an integrated hospital information system including a full suite of clinical and financial software applications. NorthCrest is also implementing HMS’ Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to view and store documents for the medical center electronically.

The move to HMS comes as a result of the continued growth of NorthCrest’s medical community and of the need for a fully integrated hospital technology system. “We are working closely with NorthCrest to deliver a technology system that will allow the hospital to continue to grow and offer the latest in technology to its physicians, nurses and most importantly, the patients,” said Tom Stephenson, President of HMS.

“Our focus is to offer our community the best medical care we can while providing our medical team with the latest technology system out there,” said Scott Raynes, President/CEO of NorthCrest Medical Center. “After looking at a number of other vendors, HMS stood out since they have proven themselves in the hospital marketplace. Working with a local technology provider with their expertise is a real bonus for us.”

In addition to an integrated hospital information system, NorthCrest is also investing in HMS’ PACS system. HMS PACS will enable radiologists and clinicians to store and retrieve exams. These electronic exams can then be viewed through the HMS electronic patient record solution, Clinical View, by any authorized user from any location including remotely. “This is a real step forward for our medical team,” said Jeff Brannick, M. D., of Springfield Radiology Associates, and the Radiology Medical Director at NorthCrest. “To be able to access this information electronically versus traditional film methods will greatly improve the radiology department efficiency and enhance transfer of patient results and physician-to-physician communication. The better utilization of staff resources will result in better patient care.”
