Speaking of WomenÂ’s Health Presents 3rd Annual Universal Sisters: Celebrating Health & Soul

Mt. Ararat Baptist Church will host the annual Speaking of Women’s Health Conference. This year’s theme is “Develop a Passion for Living Well…Put Yourself in the Picture.” Universal Sisters is an uplifting one-day conference devoted to celebrating and educating women of color about the significance of preventive health care.
The day-long activities include: continental breakfast and lunch, health screenings, giveaways, a talk show-format question and answer session and vendor booths. This yearÂ’s keynote presentation is, Build Relationships that Your Heart Desires and will be presented psychologist, Dr. Robin L. Smith. Back by popular demand is Chef Carmen Bazile, creator of Miss RuthÂ’s All Natural Seasoning.
The health screenings will include: cardiovascular, high blood pressure, cholesterol, body mass index, bone density, osteoporosis, smoking cessation, carbon monoxide and breast cancer risk assessment
