Plastic Electronics has the Potential to Revitalise Economies - Globally - Creating New Jobs and Wealth
The Plastic Electronics Foundation and plastic ELECTRONICS Magazine have announced the categories for this year's Plastic Electronics Awards for Innovation 2009 and have opened the nomination process. The winners will be announced at the 5th Global Plastic Electronics Conference & Showcase on 27-29 October 2009 at the Maritim Hotel & Conference Center, Dresden, Germany.

Publishing, healthcare, construction, sportswear, consumer & industrial electronics, packaging and automotive are just some of the markets that stand to benefit from this dynamic field of science and technology, emerging as an industry forecast to be worth $35 billion by 2016.
Most importantly, plastic electronics could play a crucial role in aiding our progress towards 'low carbon economies', by enabling affordable sources of renewable energy and more power-efficient lighting and appliances.
To celebrate and reward the endeavour of the thousands of companies and research institutes developing and commercialising new products based on the printing and coating of organic and inorganic electronic materials, the Plastic Electronics Awards 2009 are being held.
