Vocollect Healthcare Systems, Inc. (http://www. accunurse. com and http://www. blog. accunurse. com) announces that it will sponsor the American Health Care Association (AHCA) Provider magazine’s inaugural Executive Health Technology Forum, titled ‘The Expanding Role of Health Information Technology in Long-Term Care.’ The event will be held at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on February 16, 2011. The session is scheduled from 3-5 PM with a networking reception following from 5-6 PM. Provider magazine will host the session and Joanne Erickson, Editor In Chief, and Meg LaPorte, Managing Editor will serve as co-moderators.
The panel will feature 8-12 executives representing the post-acute care industry who will discuss topics that include:
Navigating technology through a reform driven environment; Technology’s role in capturing true, point-of-care clinical solutions; Collaboration, buy-in, training and feedback for the integration of clinical operations and technology; New regulations expected between now and 2014, and the build toward technology as it applies to reform.
The Executive Health Technology Forum will precede the 2011 AHCA/NCAL Quality Symposium, “Inspiring Excellence in Long-Term Care,” which will be held February 17-18, also at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter. “AHCA and Provider are delighted to host such a timely event, especially in an era where technology is increasingly more crucial to operator success,” said Bruce Yarwood, president and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “Today’s providers are challenged to keep pace in a field where the care demands and competition are constantly evolving. The Forum experts will provide a wealth of insight and advice that our profession can start using right away.”
“The key to reform success is preparedness, and forging discussions that can help providers today is not only enlightening, but also part of our strategic mission,” said Jim Rock, president of Vocollect Healthcare Systems. “We want to engage in dialogue with leading providers and experts about how they’re navigating current technology challenges and opportunities, but especially as the industry progresses toward 2014 mandates and Accountable Care model. The AHCA Health Information Technology Forum is a perfect venue for this discussion, and one that the industry will benefit from early on.”
