President of Ghana commends Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for its services to his country

President John Agyekum Kufuor of Ghana commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Ghana for their contribution to health, agriculture and education. He observed that the schools the community maintained were amongst the most disciplined in Ghana, according to a press release issued by the international press secretary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
"Apart from providing training in moral and spiritual values to its members, it has also provided education and health care delivery, significantly in deprived communities of this country. This is a highly appreciated by the government and the beneficiary communities." , he said.
The president addressed these remarks welcoming the supreme head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad to his country. The Ahmadiyya leader was on a 12-day visit to Ghana.
This was his first visit to Ghana after his election as a khalifa in April last year. He went there to meet his community, and to address the 75th Annual convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Ghana.
In reply the head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community praised the efforts of the government for maintaining peace and harmony in the country, and the tremendous improvement in the infrastructure and its socio economic development. He also expressed his gratitude to the people and Government, in particular to the President of Ghana for their love and affection and prayed most sincerely for them.
Addressing the convention, which was also attended by the President of Ghana and other high officials, he said that doing good to the people is a great commandment of Allah and a mark of a true believer. He told a 40,000 strong gathering that Allah wants them to obey his commandment, to spend in the way of Allah, to be benevolent to one? s next of kin and indeed to God? s creation in general.
He urged Ahmadis to work sincerely and hard for their country and to carry the beautiful message of Islam to the people living in that part of the world, bringing them under the banner of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
The Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community also mentioned the discriminatory anti-Ahmadiyya laws in Pakistan and said that the Government of Pakistan tried to deprive the Ahmadis of Pakistan of listening to their spiritual leader by enacting cruel laws. Allah on the other hand, so designed that through MTA (Muslim Television Ahmadiyya), the voice of the Khalifa is now being heard all over the Globe. He urged Ahmadis all over the world to intensify their efforts to create peace in the world.
