Denise Best, owner of Blissful Elegance, believes it’s time for women to luxuriate and get pampered. That’s why the Brooklyn-based event planning firm will be hosting its first annual “Diva for a Day” event, celebrating curvy women and their friends on Saturday, August 12th at The Event Loft 15 W 28th Street Suite 10B from noon to 5 p. m.
“This is just one of many events we are planning to celebrate women and their need to relax and just have fun,” says Best. “Women work so hard everyday and sometimes forget to take time for themselves. I hope this day helps women understand the importance of luxuriating.”
The seven-hour event will feature on site spa treatments including massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. In addition, participants will be able to attend a fashion and image workshop, a women’s health forum, a fashion show and book signing with the event’s host, Robynne Kaamil, author of Real Divas Don’t Burn Out: A Modern Woman’s Guide to Stress, Drama and Everyday Fools. Complimentary appetizers, wine, and mimosas will also be served.
Attendees will receive the exclusive “Diva Duffle,” a goody bag with more than $75 worth of sponsor products and information.
Cost for attending the event is $75 before June 30; $125 after. A portion of the proceeds from “Diva for a Day” will be donated to The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), the nation’s largest anti-sexual assault organization.
“It’s not just important that women find time to relax,” Best says. “It’s also important that we understand that violence against women should not be tolerated. As a woman and a business owner, I can never just forget women who don’t have the time, money or resources to just relax.”
