Nationally recognized healthcare industry and managed care expert, speaker and author, Maria K Todd MHA PhD, VP of HealthPro Consulting, Inc., announces the opening of more than 60 corporate training centers across the nation. The rollout of these local centers is in response to more than 60,000 past seminar participants exit comments from 1993-2003 regarding the need for high-quality, affordable, local seminars on healthcare business management, managed care and HIPAA compliance and reimbursment topics. This new one-day seminar model moves the workshops out of hotels and into private corporate training centers enabled with T-1 Internet connections and PolyCom videoconferencing capabilities at each location.
Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) April 14, 2004
HealthPro Consulting, Inc., is proud to announce the availability of more than 60 Corporate Training Centers in major cities across the nation. Existing clients and healthcare providers of all types and their staff will now be able to take advantage of high-quality local seminars and educational workshops on a variety of health administrative, topics such as managed care contracting and reimbursement, billing and coding, revenue improvement, HIPAA compliance, collections and many other topics. In addition, these Corporate Training Centers can be used to host corporate strategy retreats, one-on-one executive coaching sessions and expert testimony and depositions via videoconference.
No newcomer to the one-day seminar model, Maria K Todd, MHA, PhD, Vice President of HealthPro Consulting, Inc., lectures frequently for various state and national trade associations, universities, physician training, residency and fellowship programs and the US Military. She has presented more than 2000 educational programs and lectures since 1991 throughout the US and abroad. She spent an average of 270 days each year presenting seminars in over 70 major and secondary markets between 1993 and 1999. Her experience as a nationally recognized speaker, author of several books and consultant on managed care and related topics provided the insight for HealthProÂs business model. Todd is the author of The Managed Care Contracting Handbook, (1996, McGraw Hill and the HFMA, Chicago) IPA, PHO, MSO Development Strategies, (1997, McGraw Hill and the HFMA, Chicago) and the Physician Employment Contracting Handbook (1999, McGraw Hill and the MGMA, Chicago) and contributes articles to various professinal journals and special publications of the American Osteopathic Association. She also serves as an editorial resource to the Managed Care Contracting and Reimbursement Advisor (Brownstone), as well as local, regional, and national media. Todd regularly presents seminars and workshops through national associations including the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) on managed care contract analysis and negotiation and is listed in several professional yearbooks, including WhoÂs Who in American Women, WhoÂs Who in Medicine and Health, and WhoÂs Who in the World and is a recipient of the HFMA 1999 Follmer Bronze Award.
ÂWhat I learned from over 60,000 participants who have attended my programs is that they no longer have the time or travel budgets to attend seminars out of town. Many expressed desires for healthful snacks, lunch and parking to be included in the price of admission, says Todd. They also wanted to spend less time navigating huge conference hotels to find their meeting rooms, since locals rarely sleep at the seminar venue. This presented a multi-faceted problem since the better hotels didnÂt want to rent meeting space without sleeping rooms, and we refused to host events (or spend the night) at the category of hotels that would.Â
ÂOur Corporate Training Centers enable us to bring high-quality educational programs to their area at an affordable price point including lunch, parking, program manual, and a CD filled with extra tools and templates to help participants quickly implement what they learned in class. Training Centers are located in upscale corporate environments as well as commercial centers including AtlantaÂs Buckhead Section, ManhattanÂs Rockefeller Center and ChicagoÂs Michigan Avenue. All Centers have corporate hotels either adjacent or within walking distance offering preferred rates says Todd.
Through its affiliation with HQ Global Workplaces, each Training Center is equipped with state-of-the-art Polycom videoconference equipment and T-1 Internet service. ÂI need Internet access during a program when I want to share a research technique with my audience. Few hotels could provide Internet access in their ballrooms or meeting room, and hourly costs when available were prohibitive. Connections were arranged exclusively through on-site A/V vendors, whose high contract rates were then marked up by the hotels. All those costs were then included in the price of admission says Todd. ÂNow these mark-ups are eliminated and equipment consistency is under control. All of the Centers are ergonomically designed and accessible to physically challenged participants.
Physicians, dentists and other healthcare providers will begin to receive seminar and workshop catalogs and brochures this summer and programs will begin in September 2004. The entire program catalog and tour schedule is available on HealthProÂs website at www. healthproconsulting. net
