Design Chain Associates, LLC, the premier product-focused environmental compliance company, is proud to announce that its team of experts has recently broadened with the addition of several new additions. "Adding these experts broadens DCA's skill set and our ability to provide the best, most credible and insightful assistance to our clients," said Michael Kirschner, president and managing partner of DCA. "With Europe continuing to challenge industry with upcoming regulations like REACH (Registration, Evaluation, and Authorization of Chemicals), we have successfully brought on board well-known and internationally respected veterans in environment, health and safety and EU law and policy; as well as deepened our manufacturing, quality, and engineering expertise." Following is a brief overview of DCA's new personnel:
Walt Rosenberg, Vice President: Walt joins DCA to help clients in a variety of ways, from implementing ISO14001 to coaching executive management to assisting in acquisition integration. He was the Vice President of Environment, Health, and Safety at Hewlett Packard through 2005. Prior to that he was Compaq's Director of EH&S. Walt has a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Chemistry from Northern Arizona University and a Master of Science degree in Hazardous and Waste Material Management from Southern Methodist University.
Kris Pollet, Director EU Law & Policy: Kris Pollet brings deep insights in to the European Union legal system and a legal perspective on environmental regulation to DCA. He is Director EU Law & Policy at Pollet Environmental Consulting, an environmental law and policy advisory firm based in Brussels, Belgium. Mr. Pollet was previously the head of the EU environmental law & policy practice at the Brussels office of global law firm White & Case. Before that he worked as policy adviser to two UK Members of the European Parliament, and at the Secretariat General of the European Commission.
Bill Oberlin, Project Manager: Bill has extensive manufacturing and assembly technology expertise, and will help DCA clients transition to lead-free solders, as well as implement REACH and RoHS compliance programs. Prior to joining DCA Bill managed the RoHS transition program at a division of Hewlett Packard. He is experienced in project management, new product introduction, product design, process development, PCB design/layout, Pb-free processes, RoHS implementation, failure analysis, sub-contracting and outsourcing, CAD systems, MRP systems and relational databases.
Joel Russeau, Project Manager: Joel is a component engineer extraordinaire and is already helping DCA clients get control of their Approved Manufacturer Lists and reduce product costs. Prior to joining DCA, Joel acquired extensive experience with the RoHS transition on complex products at Hewlett Packard, working closely with Bill Oberlin. His background includes engineering and engineering management at defense and computer companies such as Martin Marietta, Datapoint, Tandem Computers and Compaq Computers. Joel also served as Chairman of the Electronics Industry Quality Conference.
Judy Szabo, Project Manager & Quality Black Belt: Judy has actually been with DCA over the past two years in the background managing client projects and bringing her Quality Black Belt to bear on the challenges raised by aligning current business processes to enable RoHS compliance as well as audit training. Her background in quality management at major product and service companies, including General Electric, Sperry Electronics, Square D Corporation and most recently, JPMorgan Chase where she held the position of Vice President of Business Processes related to Quality Assurance, brings DCA clients an extraordinary quality resource.
