Citadel Files Provisionary Patent For Hercules(TM), Software for Automatically Repairing Network Security Vulnerabilities

Hercules offers revolutionary security benefits for large corporations and organizations.

(PRWEB) January 5, 2002

DALLAS, TEXAS – January 4, 2002 - CT Holdings (OTCBB: CITN) today announced that its subsidiary, Citadel Security Software, Inc., a leading provider of network security and privacy software, has filed a provisional U. S. patent for core technologies and processes for Hercules(TM), its automated network vulnerability remediation application. Hercules’ revolutionary design totally automates the remediation process. The first solution of its kind, Hercules will reduce the work effort for IT personnel by fixing vulnerabilities faster and more accurately. This in turn will reduce costs, secure the network and ensure corporate security.

The Hercules Beta program was successfully launched in December. Participants in this program include a variety of large corporations and institutions. Initial customer evaluations are strong and indicate the product will be well received by security and IT professionals.

“Hercules is a breakthrough remediation solution. We’re confident its pioneering approach will be rewarded with patent protection,” said Steven B. Solomon, Chairman and CEO of CT Holdings, Inc. and Citadel Security. “Not only does Hercules uniquely and effectively fill critical security gaps in the enterprise computing environment, it also saves corporations a significant amount of time and resources as well as reducing security risks.”

Using an exclusive process, Hercules automates the remediation of vulnerabilities discovered by leading scanning applications such as ISS, Network Associates CyberCop and Microsoft. The system operates in Windows 2000 and XP, and future releases will support the Unix/Linux and Solaris platforms. Hercules provides customers with real-time remediation definitions allowing system administrators and security officers to quickly select and deploy resolutions for the vulnerabilities found in their environment. It also generates reports of resolved vulnerabilities and continuously monitors systems to ensure compliance.

"We are extremely pleased with HerculesÂ’ initial market acceptance. Citadel's mission to leverage years of technology development into a highly scalable security solution today becomes reality," said Carl E. Banzhof, Chief Technology Officer for Citadel Security. "HerculesÂ’ advanced technology provides a solution that will reduce the lifecycle of vulnerabilities from discovery to remediation and continued compliance."
