Ayushman Endosurgery Centre has successfully concluded the first ever live Advanced Laparoscopic Workshop to be held in Chattisgarh.

Chowbey has kept up to its commitment given to the state government of Chattisgarh of conducting regular training programs for Doctors of the State apart from offering the best of medical services to the people of Chattisgarh.
Ayushman Endosurgery Centre has successfully concluded the first ever live Advanced Laparoscopic Workshop to be held in Chattisgarh. This 2 day workshop was held on November 15 & 16, 2003 at the Telemedicine hall of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Hospital with 6 endosurgeries being telecast live on a screen from the operation theaters of Ayushman Endosurgery Center. A large group of physicians & surgeons from across Chattisgarh attended this workshop & benefited by understanding the methodologies of endosurgery for Hernia, Fundoplication, Varicoceal, Ovarian cyst, Appendix & Gallbladder.
Dr. Pradeep Chowbey said that five of the patients on whom surgeries were conducted belonged to the “Below Poverty Line” category and surgeries were performed free of cost. He said that it was very satisfying to offer cure to those belonging to the poorest of the poor.
He said that Ayushman Endosurgery Center in the premises of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Hospital is a state of art comprehensive minimal access surgery unit offering the best of endosurgical services in the areas of:
1.Hernia repair
2.Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (Gallbladder removal)
3.Laparoscopic Appendicectomy
4.Diagnostic Laparoscopy
5.A wide range of intra abdominal operations on the intestine, liver, spleen, stomach, cancer etc.
6.Various gynecological procedures
The surgical & paramedical teams are trained according to international standards & equal to the best said Dr. Chowbey. He also said that the core group of his surgical team has been in existence for more than a decade. The Ayushman group has numerous achievements to its credit. It features in Guinness book of records and Limca book of records 2000 / 2001 / 2002 / 2003 for having performed the largest number of minimal access surgical procedures. This group operated his Excellency Shri K. R. Narayanan, Past President of India on 29th March 2001 and is recognized today as international faculty the world over.
Dr. Chowbey said that the Ayushman Endosurgery Centre at Raipur has the best contemporary state of the art equipment imported from Germany and America. This centre will soon also start offering top line minimal access surgery services in the areas Gynaecology, ENT, Urology & Orthopaedic. A therapeutic Endoscopy unit is also being started soon.
He said that “Minimal access surgery (laparoscopy) today offers tremendous advantages and is the best hope for a country like India”. With advantages such as small incisions, less pain, medications and hospitalization, earlier hospital discharge and earlier return to work thus ensuring less number of working days lost.
Dr. Pradeep Chowbey said that a member of his core surgical team is always present at the Ayushman Endosurgery Center as its Medical Director. This he said, ensures that the best surgical standards followed by his team in Delhi is made available to the people of Chattisgarh.
