Calling All Austinites Submit Today For A Chance To Win Elite Austin Under 40 Award

The Austin Under 40 (AU40) committee is now accepting nominations for the 8th Annual Austin Under 40 Awards, honoring Austin’s most prominent business and community leaders in the following ten categories:
Arts & Entertainment Business & Entrepreneurship Community Service & Non-profit Financial Services Government & Public Affairs Legal Medical & Health Care Real Estate Technology Youth & Education .
To nominate a co-worker, friend, or yourself for one of the ten categories listed above, download a nomination form from the Austin Under 40 Web site at www. AustinUnder40.org. The form is located under the 2006 nominations tab at the top of the homepage. The deadline for nominations is January 25, 2006.
Past winners of the prestigious AU40 award include Lance Armstrong, Paul Carrozza, Michael Dell, MariBen Ramsey, Lynn Sherman, Evan Smith, Reid Ryan and Mayor Will Wynn.
"I am honored to have been named Austinite of the Year by Austin Under 40 in 2001," said Mayor Will Wynn. "I look forward to hearing the nominees for this year. I am confident that the finalists and winners will continue the strong tradition of contributing to the community."
After the nominations are reviewed, 50 Austin-based professionals will be selected as category finalists and the winners will be recognized at the Austin Under 40 Gala, March 3rd, 2006 at The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. Tickets to the annual gala are available at www. AustinUnder40.org.
This year’s event, co-hosted by the Young Women’s Alliance (YWA) and the Young Men’s Business League (YMBL), will not only celebrate the nominees’ contributions to the Austin community, but will also raise money for the YWA Foundation and the YMBL Austin Sunshine Camps.
“We are excited to begin receiving nominations from the Austin community,” said Deanna Rankin, the chair of this years Austin Under 40 event. “Each year we rely on the community to provide the nominations that make the event a success.”
