New York, NY (PRWEB) May 3, 2003 -
FCTTA) today announced that the first reduced carb/high fiber bread using its proprietary Healthy Lifestyle premix will make a retail market debut under the label of New York artisan baker, Tribeca Oven Inc., in May of 2003.
The functional bread will initially be available at the Gourmet Garage, one of New YorkÂs foremost trendsetting food markets, in two New York City locations.
The new ÂReduced Carb Bread will initially be available in Tribeca OvenÂs Country Wheat and Rye varieties and has been specially formulated for carbohydrate controlled or weight management lifestyles, containing FACTÂs unique premix with its proprietary matrix of soluble and insoluble fibers and protein. These novel breads provide substantial health benefits to the consumer, offering an alternative to conventional bread which is generally high in sugar forming carbohydrates. Being reduced in digestible carbohydrates and high in fiber, this bread also makes an excellent choice for diabetics.
ÂThe bread maintains TribecaÂs high quality standards while offering 35% fewer digestible carbohydrates than our current Wheat or Rye, with 7 grams of fiber per serving (an excellent source) and 7 net grams of carbs per slice, making it suitable for multiple weight loss diets, whether you are counting points, calories or carbs, as well as for diabetics, says TribecaÂs Vice President and General Manager, Jesse Kirsch.
Tribeca Oven was started in 1985 and is presently located in Brooklyn, NY. Tribeca Oven is still making bread using the old fashioned hand made techniques and fresh ingredients, created by artisan bread crafters centuries ago, focusing on flavor and texture. Tribeca sells to a variety of specialty retail and food service customers, as well as restaurants in New York City, Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey and Connecticut.
ÂWe are extremely excited to be working with an innovative manufacturer like Tribeca OvenÂ, says Jacqueline Danforth, FACTÂs President. ÂTo have the first reduced carb bread containing our Healthy Lifestyle premix introduced to consumers at one of New YorkÂs finest markets is especially groundbreaking for FACT. New York, known as a city that sets trends for the country, is the perfect venue for introduction of such a delicious and healthful product for the consumer.Â
Gourmet Garage, voted Âbest food market in New York City was referred to by New York City Magazine as Â..the gourmandÂs answer to CostcoÂ.
