The team at Go Fishing, along with representatives from National Fishing Week, are joining forces to help improve the lifestyle of today’s youth – promoting the benefits of fishing to children of all ages whilst also educating them about their environment

Pendigo Lake, Birmingham NEC (PRWEB) April 1, 2005

Go Fishing– the UK’s biggest and most prestigious angling event - has teamed up with the Angling Trades Association to launch National Fishing Week 2005

Since its launch in 1992 National Fishing Week has introduced over one million people to the UKÂ’s biggest participation sport, encouraging young people to get away from the computer screen and to be more active!

The team at Go Fishing, along with representatives from National Fishing Week, are joining forces to help improve the lifestyle of today’s youth – promoting the benefits of fishing to children of all ages whilst also educating them about their environment.

Fully qualified coaches from the Professional Angler’s Association will be on hand to give children free coaching on Pendigo Lake – right outside the Birmingham NEC. And it’s not just for kids – anyone who is interested in the sport can try their hand at fishing, and are sure to be hooked!

The UKÂ’s top celebrity anglers will on hand to help launch this major initiative. Matt Hayes will be on the banks of Pendigo Lake giving advice and tips and encouraging people to get involved in fishing, while inside the show four times world champion Bob Nudd, TVÂ’s Go Fishing star John Wilson and world fly casting champion Steve Rajeff will be giving demonstrations and sharing their fishing secrets throughout the weekend.

National Fishing Week is scheduled for the 20-29th of August 2005. The team will be at Go Fishing to provide more information about the weekÂ’s activities and how visitors can sign up to get involved in the fun!

Visitors can come along to the Go Fishing Show at the NEC from the 1st-3rd April to get a taste of what itÂ’s like to catch their first fish and to find out more about National Fishing Week.

If you would like to attend the photocall please arrive at the press office at Hall 1 inside the NEC for 10.30 am for coffee and biscuits. You will then be escorted down to the lake where the photocall will take place.
