St. Louis / Durham, N. H. (PRWEB) June 14, 2010

The New England Genetics Collaborative (NEGC) at the University of New Hampshire’s Institute on Disability is partnering with Global Vision Technologies (http://www. globalvisiontech. com) (GVT) to create and deliver a new quality improvement patient registry (http://www. patientregistrysoftware. com/PatientRegistry/ClinicalPURSUIT/tabid/171/Default. aspx) to improve genetic health care quality and safety.

“The new quality improvement registry will enable the NEGC to collect data securely and rapidly from multiple centers,” said George Ritacco, Executive Director of Client Services at GVT. “Records will be entered securely and safely by clinicians, and then the data can be compiled, accessed, and analyzed, giving valuable insight into what’s working and how to further improve patient outcomes.”

“One of the primary objectives of this effort is to examine patterns in provider practices to ensure that all children with genetic conditions in New England are receiving optimal genetic health care,” said John Moeschler, MD, NEGC Program Director and Professor of Pediatrics at Dartmouth Medical School. “The patient registry software (http://www. patientregistrysoftware. com/PatientRegistry/tabid/168/Default. aspx) system from GVT will provide genetics health care teams with a view into their clinical practice that has not been available previously.”
